Miles Robinson went down with a non-contact injury this weekend.  Speculation is that it is serious, possibly his Achilles.  I guess we'll hear more today.

If it is his Achilles, or anything comparable,  he'll miss the World Cup.  You hate to see an injury like that for anyone at anytime, but it's awful for a player like Robinson 6 months before a World Cup.

Also, since Zimmerman and Robinson were really the only "locks" at this point to make the team at CB (maybe Richards as well if he is healthy), everyone else's chances just went up.  Long has looked good so far this season and Berhalter seems to like him; he may end up starting in the WC.  Also, CCV/Brooks/ EPB will likely get looks this summer and one or two of them could end up in Qatar.

ouch- terrible.

Miles was great and had locked down the US starter role.

Long tore it in early April and was back in US camp ~ Dec but had very fast recovery.  He did not fully play a game until Feb and still indicated he was not back to full speed until April ish.

apparently 6 is more possible and full return to function per this article

better surgical techniques - smaller incision, anchoring tendon at bottom, making sure tension same between legs.

more agressive earlier rehab to avoid muscle wasting including ROM, toe curls blood flow restriction, antigravity tredmills.

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

yeah MLSBuzz has a hot take on Long on twitter.

I think Aaron has done enough to prove himself recently and looked good.  Lets see tomorrow how he can bring it!

I think Long is clearly good enough to start for the US, but I dont think he looked very good together with Zimmerman.

The Venn diagram of people complaining about Long and people who have actually seen Long play are two entirely separate circles. USMNT Twitter is one of the worst social media cesspools out there right now.

It's so bad cuz there are too many Euro snobs fronting like they have coaching licenses, or just cuz they played JV in HS or something moronic.
