If it keeps Conde in chicago, hire Denis. And add Armas as an assistant.
I like this idea but i think it would be better to get someone from outside of the US. To be more specific, someone who has connections to a good foreign striker

haha funny!!!

Perfect.
That's what I said on the other thread.

I want what I had hoped we would have with Osorio and that's someone willing to build an entire organization, year after year, like ManU.
Agreed.
Man, whoever thought we'd be having this conversation again so soon?

If there are growing numbers of quality players willing to come to the U.S. to use MLS as a springboard from SA, or wherever, should there not be more coaches thinking along the same lines?
The level of coaching, like the level of players and of play needs to be improving. While H.W.S.N.B.N.H. has serious issues with loyalty, contracts, etc. he is, clearly, an improvement in the level of coaching in MLS.
We need someone with a similar skill set (and connections to good players).
I like Denis, but he, and the other coaches of his ilk, are not where the future Cup holders of this league are going to be coming from. (Though you gotta love the bi-lingualism)
Coaches with reps, and connections, to other leagues are gonna be the ones delivering in this league for the next however many years.

This is the worst part about this - JCO was the right guy. There's not another candidate out there like him.
BULL. SHIT.
JCO was not all that people want to make him out to be. Compared to Sarachan he was God and Thor and Michael Jordan combined, but he was not all that people make him up to be.
Man, whoever thought we'd be having this conversation again so soon?
I sure as heck didn't think we'd be in this mess this off-season, but I had it in my head that the winter of 2008 was a possibility. I never saw this guy as someone who was going to put down roots in Chicago.

I certainly don't think he was the total package but he had specific upside we're not likely to get from any other available candidates.BULL. SHIT.

I've had several opportunities to talk to the guy. He doesn't take any bullshit from his players. He has already established a remarkable track record in taking a team from the ranks of the mediocre into the ranks of the elite.
