I am guessing it is being driven by their SPI rating of NYCFC.  Not sure what goes into that formula, but if you sort the table by SPI, they rate NYCFC as the best team in the league, by far.

Not a ringing endorsement of that metric, lol

Their rating formula is complete garbage. Last year they had Miami as one of the highest-rated teams in the league.

Yup.  If I remember right from when I looked it up last year, I think a sizable portion of the rating is the market value of the players.  That boosted Miami way up, until they proved themselves to be a dumpster fire.

I could see the Smurfs favored over CHI & MIA,
although they did lose 2-0 @ CHI and
their recent form has been crap: 0W-2D-3L, only
1 goal in 5 games, 31' against us @ RBA 9/22.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Yeah, we're way overrated. I don't think their formula works even remotely well for MLS.

Historically, "playing as if we are in the playoffs" has been pretty bad

I see what you did there...lol

this team reminds of those early kc teams with gansler as hc and his main stars were vermes, meola, and preki. Alot of 1-0 wins. Very defensive.

Agree with the Team playing more defensively.....looks like Struber realized that he does not have the offensive tools to go all out offense. The Team looks to seat back in the last couple of games.

What was that other playoff percentage tracker we all used a while ago? I cannot remember it

EDIT: I found it. Sportsclubstats.com. They give us only a 35.5% chance. NYCFC at 65, Montreal at 53.

Most results go our way on a crowded Wednesday.
ATL 1-1 NYC, each pick up a point, but drop 2.
DC remain on 41 points after home loss to NE.
ORL 1-1 MON, ORL now has 46, MON on 42, so
perhaps an ORL W would have been better.
PHI lose in Minnesota, stuck on 46.
Cbus 2 points behind RB after tie with Nashville.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

CLB drops 2 points in Nashville tonight as well. If we beat CLB on saturday with the right results going our way we can jump up a few spots

Great night for us.  Firmly on the bubble with a game in hand. Gotta get the points on Saturday.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

Crazy to think that if we win our game in hand, we are within 3pts of 3rd place...
