The criticism's were just. He played awful in the beginning of his Red Bull career. Looked immobile.

He was a player that needed time to adjust to the league. I think last year and the tail end of 2012 he was a stud and should have been kept.

I don't think his point was that Holgersson was playing well from the beginning. Just that, as usual, people jumped to conclusions way too early.

I'm already saving quotes to shove in peoples' faces when Armando wins 2015 team MVP.

no he actually was horrendous, one of the rare occasions where fans weren't overreacting

Guess I should repeat it again. The point wasn't that he was playing well. The point was that people wrote him off way too early.

are you saying that fans have no right to react to horrendous play for a whole year ? dont pretend they guy was bad for a few games . His whole first season was a tragedy .

This is the narrative that the haters want to write, but he was never as bad as the Cassandra's were saying.  Any rough patches were magnified and his strengths including clean play were basically ignored.  During those two years, the Red Bulls were almost impossible to score against on flighted balls into the area.  Between him and Olave, they pretty much shut down the airspace.

It wasn't a whole year. Your memory is shit. He was pretty good in the second half of the season.

Hulk was an avg player that was getting paid too much For mls standards.

He struggled a lot with speedy players and relied on olave to bail him out.

He only played RB for the last 3-4 games of the season and started over 30, and he was definitely better at CB.

What specifically did you think he did poorly in 2013?  You just keep saying he was shit without giving any reason why.

I expected better from you, I said he was shit his first year, which is not 2013.  do i need to go find every replay of the statue moments to refresh memory  ? i wont do it by the way. i stand y my initial statement. Holgersson was shit in his first year, the whole year not just half.

but for the sake of ending this futile argument, let me just be on team holgy and say We should have offered what he wanted and kept him onboard.

He was still shit in 2012 tho  :D
