Lawrence will be back

Swap him for Tarek and still play that formation.

Switch the formation to a 3-4-3 diamond. Our current formation requires too many junk players (Buck, Rza, Davis, etc.) to take the field. Stop giving them minutes. Nothing to lose with switching it up at this point.

LW: Royer
CF: White (if healthy, or BWP)
RW: Sims
LM: Muyl
CAM: Kaku
RM: Murillo
CDM: Casseres
CB: Parker
CB: Long
CB: Tarek
G: Robles

#1353611 Hamlett is in so far over his head

Also Murillo apparently got two yellows in two games vs. BERMUDA one of which included a LOSS.

Can we get a legit right back now?

Buck is our lockdown right back!

Does davis ever touch the white round thing they play with?

He's sucked this year.

Parker also under the radar has sucked very bad as well. Him and Buck made themselves useless on the second Colorado goal.

#1353033 The Fire Chris Armas Thread

If Armas had the even the tiniest shred of integrity inside him, he'd step down right now.

His team has quit on him. He's inept. He can't continue here.

#1352836 The Fire Chris Armas Thread

Posted by Grelladinho on 27 August 2019 - 03:42 PM

Do you have any 'inside locker room information' on this, or is this just complete speculation on your part because supporters don't like Armas and you just assume the players who deal with Armas every single day must feel the same?  Have there been any concrete signs that a Royer or a Robles is considering leaving because they don't like the direction of management? Forget Kaku and Long who may be bitter because they want out to move to Latin America or Europe.  I'll speculate. I'm betting veteran players on this squad are saying 'we've made so many boneheaded mistakes this season, missed sitters, and spent time ball watching that, despite what I think about Armas and some of his poor tactical decisions, we should easily have an additional 8 or 9 points and be sitting first in the East.'  Sometimes players need to man-up too. Maybe the players love Chris.

Do you think Thierry Henry was inspired by Mike Petke? I don't.

Complete speculation, that's why I wrote "could".

Their body language all season though has looked off. If they are thrilled to play for Armas, it can be hard to tell at times.

Maybe they love him. Maybe they don't. But the club is definitely trending backward.

They could easily win it.

The definitely have an advantage at home since the Yankee Stadium field is a joke, so their point total every year is above what it should really be.

But roster-wise they have assembled a nice team with a bunch of attacking options. Heber has been a fantastic signing for them.

Their 3-2 David Villa hat trick win at the stadium in 2017 is a highlight for them. Probably their best win in this matchup.

I don't think anything will ever top the 7-0 though.

BWP brace

#1352108 Metro - Scum Game Thread

BWP can get his final 90 run out as a RedBull against DC during the last home game of the season.

I'm sorry but that would be fucking ridiculous.

BWP scores 20 goals a season for years, finally gets a bad injury this season and Armas now rates a scrub from RBII over him and fans are calling for him to retire as they think he is "washed up".

#1351780 So now what's the ideal XI (and subs) from late August on?

Posted by Grelladinho on 16 August 2019 - 04:43 AM

BWP, White, Sims, Kaku and Royer should be in the starting 11 this weekend, and Armas needs to find a formation to make that work.

Fuck the failed 4-2-3-1 and the "system". If the team wants to have any chance at making a playoff run this year they need to get all their top players out on the field. Enough of BWP on the bench.

#1351458 EPL Interest in Aaron Long

Posted by Grelladinho on 12 August 2019 - 04:33 AM

Long has absolutely nothing to complain about. His career was in tatters, this team took him in and now he is a starter on the national team.

If he signed a contract the expectation is that he stays committed the entire time.

The club should not bend over for one player. If he wants to burn bridges and pout because he's not a seventh-string CB on a garbage PL team like West Ham, that's his choice, but the club should not sell Long if they are still trying to make the playoffs.

#1351033 Young premier league winger = Josh Sims

Posted by Grelladinho on 07 August 2019 - 05:50 PM

Hes only here for 3 months, btw. I assumed it would be a 1 year loan.

If he excels he probably won't return next season.

Maybe regardless he's not returning next season.

What a disappointment, might as well get more tarps at this rate. Would love to be absolutely wrong and they win an MLS Cup but lols been here too long to believe that nonsense.

Exactly. It's hard to get too excited.

Three windows and the best they could do is bring in this guy -- who, like another poster above suggested, is only on the team's radar because of his connections to the Red Bull empire.

What a joke.

As cheap as the owners are, this team is still jostling for position in the playoff hunt.

Long absolutely should not be sold this season.
