Drafted our U23 keeper last year Rashid Nuhu.

Also drafted Sean McSheery. Midfielder out of Princeton.
Also Joey Piatczyc. Midfielder out of WVU.

Piatczyc had 35 assists in 69 games at WVU. Not bad.

McSherry has dark horse potential, if he can handle the athleticism.   Has the Freehold, Princeton, and Ginja Ninja trifecta.

Weird how many teams simply passed in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Galaxy had 3-4 picks and elected not to take a single player even with a II team.

Not really that weird, especially for a team like LAG with solid academies.

Maybe they thought the draft started at 1 pacific time and never dialed into the conference call

Not really that weird, especially for a team like LAG with solid academies.

Why wouldn't you, though?  Seems to be no downside - even if you don't think they're really pro material, bring them in for a look.  You never know, every so often you'll find a diamond in the rough.

LA II finished 14th out of 17 in the West last year and 13th out of 15 the year before.

Its odd but it happens every single year. There's a lot of talk about the draft's growing irrelevance but to me having multiple teams per year say that 3rd/4th round picks aren't even worth bringing to camp is the most damning.

It really makes no sense, especially for teams with USL reserve teams. Why not lock down the MLS rights for a few guys who you already want to bring into USL camp, at the very least?

Jared Stroud was picked 83rd last year, and could potentially be a first team player down the line. Stupid to pass up on free picks.

Lag has been a disaster since arena left. They have done a terrible job integrating their youth academy with their USL and first team player.

Honestly they did a shit job of this with Arena as well. But that doesn't really matter when Mike Magee is like your sixth-best player.

there's been talent in the LA academy, those players even saw some playing time with LA II. iirc, 2 players signed contracts with Bundesliga teams.

This article from another thread mentions that few recent SuperDraft picks have played in MLS. 30% of 321.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.
