One of the best, if not the best, acquisitions in team history.

way too soon for that... but I guess that's what we do here

I don't get why people love to shit on Veron. Unlike with Kaku who was eased into a clear role that he could excel in, Marsch and Co handled Veron in the exact opposite manner. When he was being deployed properly the last half of the season or in the US Open Cup the year before, he absolutely crushed.  I also think Marsch learned a lot from the Veron experience and applied that to Kaku. He eased him in. He groomed him into the role. He didn't toss him out there in the CCL in a position to fail. And now that he's fully incorporated into the team, the dude is a menace.

Think it's a shame he gets compared to Veron because they were such different players.  But yeah, he's picked things up very quickly. It's hard to develop chemistry and understand where your teammates are going to be so quickly but he's managed to do it.  What's so great about him in my opinion is how quickly he finds the pass, and how the pass is almost ALWAYS going forward.  He doesn't just look for the easy passes.  He's perfect for our system.

Plus he's a great guy... Couldn't have a better signing.

You mean it is not BWP making him look good the way way Henry made BWP look good? Hahaha

Nice to see him integrate so quickly. He doesn't hesitate with those passes and crosses, which allows for BWP to release into space uncontested.

You have to do it while you can. As a feeder league we can't count on all of these guys being here forever. LOL

Marsch and Curtis spent Veron's first few months talking time and time again about how they were integrating him slowly, that's why nobody was freaking out over the lack of minutes in 2015 even though he showed flashes. I don't think integration plan was the difference, its just that Kaku is filling an empty role in the roster while Veron was perpetually competing for minutes against the best goalscorer in MLS history.

The problem with Veron is that Red Bull were too cheap for Villalba.

Edit: pero I liked Veron. Coulda bought both! *pouting voice* If Diddy owned this team he woulda bought em both (that was a joke but hes worth...820 million?!)

Correct. Villalba was valued at $5m at the time and was getting suitors from a mid-table Serie A whose name escapes me.

The only thing I can say about Kaku is that he's been everything I hoped for when we signed him. Nice guy, seems to fit in, makes the offense better whether it is scoring or passing...he's been wonderful. Just wish he was here 3 months sooner.  :(

Best hope is that the league manages to do a fair amount of loan-till-seasons-done deals. Playoffs going for fucking ever hurts that.

So here's the most important question of all:  at what point is Kaku's flag on MetroFanatic changed to Paraguay?

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

He needs to get capped. Flag goes first by senior international cap, then by country of birth.

The more you know.  Always thought it was declared nationality and then country of birth.
