Really? Is this how we have looked in pre-season? 4-2-2-2 with Royer as the other striker?

Yeah against HOU it was Royer-Jørgensen up top.

Well Hull are only 4 points from the drop, so maybe theyll sell Lopes to us when they get relegated.

I thought the entire purpose of RB2 and the academy was to develop starters for the first team.

Sure, but all XI?

You cant really call matchday 1 a must win, but anything less than 3 points would be a failure.

Considering FCCs continued turmoil, the heat on Armas from last season, the lack of any meaningful additions, the early season schedule (8 of 12 on the road), and last seasons poor home form...this team needs a W.

As the league continues to evolve the ceiling of success for this team will continue to drop if we are relying on guys like Lema, Stroud, and other RB2 promoted players to play large roles.

Squad depth, occasional starters in the event of injury, or multiple match weeks, sure. RB2 is an asset, but not the crutch that RBNY uses it as.

There are exceptions with highly touted academy graduates (Tyler, Tolkin, potentially Caden Clark), but expecting to strike gold like they did with Aaron Long on a regular basis is foolhardy.

You can sprinkle in a Seagrist, Duncan, Davis, and White but thats also the building blocks of a team whose ceiling is a mid Eastern conference finisher
