So, I've been doing some cleaning in the basement, and found a whole bunch of old Star Legder MetroStars articles.  Would anyone like them?  I'd ship them out to you via the UPS Store, and all I'd ask is that you pay S&H... I'd assume the cost to be $10/$15

Here are the articles I have:

'Birth of a Franchise' - April 7, 1996
Firmani resigns Stars job - May 25, 1996
Happy Returns for Donadoni, Savarese - July 11, 1996
Wrong call proves right for Stars (with photo Vermes after scoring SO goal) - Sept 25, 1996
Former NASL stars on MetroStars short list?/MetroStars lose season finale - Sept 22, 1996
MetroStars lose game, then coach - Sept 16th, 1996
Stars nearing playoffs but might lose coach - Sept 11, 1996
MetroStars unveil De Avila tonight - Aug 16, 1996
Can Donadoni 'score'? - Oct 1, 1996

Too many potholes lurked in MetroStars' path - Oct 6, 1996

if anyone's interested, let me know!

Should donate them to the Fishkin Wing of Journalism at the Metrostars/RB Hall of Fame. Maybe the sitting Ryazanski Professor of the Angrily Written Word can add them to our team history.

Or have [some of] the articles framed and let Jack hang them up at Legends.

Received, and it's an impressive haul. Will work on scanning them to PDF and putting them in a zip file for anyone to look at.

Post a link here!

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

That's the plan! Hilarious to see the tone in the articles go from new team hype to "Metros lose another, this time the coach."

I remember when there was discussion about what the team's nickname was going to be. The media triedout "Stars" for a while but that didn't stick too long. The fans always decide.Metro it is

The articles reflect a time when soccer received coverage in local newspapers. After the victory and title yesterday, I could only find a single article, on the Times website: https://www.nytimes....ers-shield.html

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Thought it was weird that NJ.com had nothing on their site. But cool that the Times picked us up
