This is such a silly debate because you dont actually have to choose. Historically the team that has won the shield has had the best odds of winning the cup (nearly 33% of the time they win it). So of course we all want the cup the most and if forced to choose most of us would pick that. But we dont have to. Winning the shield was fucking great and I want it again, but this time en route to the cup (and enabling us to host it at home).

Wasn't Toronto the only Supporter Shield winner in the history of MLS to win the Cup just last year? Until then percent was 0. Where did you get 33% number from?

No. Columbus, KC, LA, Scum before them, off the top of my head.

No, they were the 7th team to pull off the double.

yup. 5 teams did the MLS Cup / Shield double. with LA and DC doing it twice.

DC CHI LA were the only American teams who did the MLS Cup USOC double.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig and Celenio Eleazar.

RIP Cesar Castello and Mike Vallo

Toronto was the first team to win a 'Treble,'

Really, the Canadian Treble is more like a 'Deuce and quarter' since there are only 6 teams in the Canadian Championship, and the first round is a playoff between two lower division teams.  It's a harrowing 4 game ordeal to lift the Voyageur's Cup.  The Emirates Cup was probably more of an achievement.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.
