Thats the point youre missing. YOU think Miazga is getting screwed. We dont know what HE thinks. He is still in the USMNT picture, playing, and taking advantage of his peak earning years. European soccer isnt taking advantage of him. He is taking advantage of a situation very few on the planet find themselves in: professional athlete.
He is in USMNT picture? Maybe you should look to see who was in camp for the last round of world cup qualifications. unless there is an injury, he is probably not going to the world cup.
If you believe Chelsea is not taking advantage of him than ask yourself these questions: Was he given a legit opportunity to be a role player at Chelsea? How many players does Chelsea have under contract, including the players they have loaned out? How much did Chelsea pay in the transfer fee? How much money did Chelsea earn each year by loaning him out to different clubs? How much did Chelsea earn by loaning out other players? Where did Chelsea invest this money?
Once you answer these questions you will see that Chelsea like Arsenal and a few other European clubs run a large scale operation that stockpiles talent and then loans them out to raise funds to make even bigger purchases for the first team. they dont care about developing these players. the priority is to either flip in a season or recoup enough loan fees .
This is not only a Chelsea or Arsenal problem. A team like Parma once had over 200 + players under contract. this eventually led the team to bankruptcy. is that normal? No. As a US Soccer fan this is concerning because we will lose talent to this unethical behavior. there should be limitations to this type of third party ownership. it is unethical.
