James quit on Everton. Cant put the kind of money hed command into a player that might give up on you. Why does São Paulo want to terminate his contract?

I don't really think he quit. He wants to start and be the focus of the team. Which is also wants happening now... He wants to start and he wants to play for the national team and the coach was pissed he left for international leave two fifa rounds ago....

No MLS club can pay what the Prem pay. In that regard money is a moot point in the sense of thinking his salary is a drawback, especially with the designated player mechanism...

The issue would be if he doesn't start then he'll want to leave. He knows if he doesn't play every match and start, he won't play for Colombia.

Which wouldn't happen in the MLS. Metro don't have anyone better
I just want Metro to win a title sometime in my lifetime.

He wasnt the most talented player on Olympiacos? He had to be on his team in Qatar, right?

who's team? The anglophone media around the sport are very English biased. They feel England are the best at the sport and have the best league and best style of play.

He was hurt a lot in Qatar and Olympiacos... They went with younger guys..

Metro have gone with younger guys thinking the system will solve everything.. The same things you bring up with James where what was said about Cucho Hernández... I'd rather have Cucho than Barlow or Elias or Vanzier..

James would be a huge upgrade and do very well in the MLS. He has the talent and skill to score a dozen goals here and have even more assists than that. More importantly he'd be clutch in the playoffs

So hes a 32 year old that has had a lot of injuries. I agree that a healthy and committed James would be a dominate force in MLS. I just dont think weve seen a heathy and committed James since his first year at Everton. Hes had his contract torn up twice and his current team would like to be the third.

James would do well if we play with a traditional "10" but we dont. He would be a better fit with Seattle. Our central mids are mostly ball winner or 2 way mids and that is not James.

Modern soccer has discarded the traditional 10 like James.

Forsberg is a better version of what we would use James for.  HARD pass.

This
Forsberg consistent higher level for years
James peaked higher but faded harder

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Plus forsberg will be a lot better for the locker room. James jumping around teams should be ringing some type of alarm.

I feel like players with an Argie flag might be under the Messi umbrella of protection... Any chance for Campana?

MLS not being transparent about rosters and $$ makes it easy for them to allow Miami to undercut the rules. Its crazy that in 2023 we are still relying on outdated roster pages and no published calculation about what amount of xAM and salary space teams have remaining.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

It's the MLS this is the king of player that they can afford.. And it's not as high of level of physicality as the Premier League nor the level of technique...

James would be a huge upgrade over any player Metro has ever had except TH14

that's not true either...

Sacha during his time with Metro was a CAM and arguably the best CAM Metro has ever had, and that team played a demanding press and counter-press..

The only way Metro make it to the next level is buying spending on talent and complimenting it with the system.. A handful of older guys that are clutch in the playoffs and can score complimented with young guys that add physicality to both sides of the ball... Ala how La did it during the Keane days and how Inter won the leagues cup...

And when Jesse was here had some veterans that were filled with talent and not the most athletic... IE Sascha.. And BWP wasn't exactly a track star
