Exactly. I'd rather have pride and lose than have the HDC turn into a Boy Band Concert senario and win. How about we just get Ricky Martin to play for us?

what are you talking about? the HDC was built specifically for boy bands...and x games.

The funny thing is that the Beckham's have been trying to build their "brand" in the US for years and not really getting anywhere. Remember a few years ago when the producers of the Simpson's rejected their reps to get them on the show?

But, his Academy is here at the HDC, and he would solve one of our wide midfield problems.

But here's the bottom line for me on every and all player acquisitions:

I would root for Satan or even George W. Bush if he wore a Galaxy shirt and helped the team.

I would boo my own son if he appeared in a Chivas shirt.

quoted for the truth.

Edit: remember when that tool, I mean our favorite player Landon Donovan played up north? would you ever have imagined cheering him on in a G's strip?

I'm not afraid of teeny boppers overflowing the HDC I'm afraid of all those sports fans who are going to come to see the great soccer star Beackham expecting to see a Joe Montana or Cobi Bryant of soccer and see that he is not this over the top dominating athlete that they think stars are suppose to be.This will lead more to soccer bashing and all that chingadera

Yeah that too. We'll get a bunch of Charger and Laker fans that don't know anything about the sport in there expecting to see Beckham score eighty goals.

Not on the Saturday nights when I am there. As long as I don't have to see that shit I don't care.

I also see a shitload of Brit Ex-Pats packing the HDC. Spice Boy is still at the top of his game. If this move happens in the next year, it could be bigger than when Pele arrived at the Meadowlands. Guys (and Gals) this is a huge move if it happens.

Chargers Rock. Go Bolt.

Beckham isn't and never has been a goal scorer...but you're probably right than they'll pimp him like Adu was pimped in DC and people will show up in masses when LA is on the road. Good thing Spice Boy is a more polished player than Adu.
I Ramble and Twitter and waste a lot of time on Facebook.

Average Joe doesn't know that and is going to expect Beckham to do The Triple Lindy or something and be highly dissapointed

Meh, he's mediocre at best. Weak crosses, his defending is decent but he couldn't win a sprint with roller blades on.

But, his Academy is here at the HDC, and he would solve one of our wide midfield problems.

THIS I like -- If we can start poaching people's children like they do in Brazil and making it acceptable for young kids to say "fuck school, i'm a footballa" then we might be onto something.

No worries about teenie boppers or Soccer Moms complaining about our un-family friendly atmosphere.

As long as we're not chanting swear words in unison, the FO seems to be OK with us. Many sports teams have an "Adult Section", as it's better to have all of the drunk rowdies in one section. That way they don't bother anybody but themselves, and it makes it easier for security to keep an eye on them.

Just remember: It's "LOVE your women and drink your beer".
