After 20 seasons, a couple of games stand out for me...

1996 - First Metro home game at Giants Stadium, had a first-hand view of Caricola's own goal in the 90th minute. Sadly, most of my friends that were with me at that time, haven't returned since.

2014 - Personally witnessed our very first road win at Gillette Stadium on a sweltering day in June vs. the Revolution - First bus trip with the Viking Army Party Bus (lol)

2014 - With the assistance (and thanks) of many of you with it's design, the Metro Flag was unveiled at Red Bull Arena. We beat Seattle, 4-1

2014 - Being among 1500 traveling fans with a SERIOUS chip on our shoulders in RFK and being the loudest section before, during and AFTER the match as we FINALLY booted the Scum out of the playoffs

But, the number one game on my list to this day...

2013 - Presented the match ball before the game, and gave my personal tribute to all the cool kids in South Ward for everything you do, despite it all. The loud roar you guys gave in response was a nice touch. Afterwards, we stomped on Chicago 5-2 for our very first ever piece of silverware. One, that we'll never forget.

Great post!  I was at these games, too!

A small correction, the Shield score was 5-2,

as Chicago scored at the death.  Assist by Linpere, of all people.

I'm sure that many missed it, in the pandemonium.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

One of the best weekends of my life. Everyone who made the trip had a great time despite the loss.

Absolutely. And that was even before the hijinks at the hotel.

I was in club seats for the Seattle game so I remember it well. Only sat there that one time. Prawn sandwich fans over there.

Absolutely. And that was even before the hijinks at the hotel.

the pool area at the hotel was essentially the flight deck of the USS Nimitz.

I feel the 4-3 home win vs RSL in 2013 doesn't get enough love.  Anybody else agree?

Metro - Tampa , '97... Michael Butler off the bench for the winner in the 90th and then off into obscurity.

Metro - Chicago '05 .... Guevara with the gorgeous finish from the top of the box to win it in the final seconds.

Metro at DC '00 .... Petke's winner at the death. After the 99' season, this was so sweet.

Metro - DC .... Open Cup '03, Woly's winner at the end to send us thru (Juskowiak & Guevara were legendary in this one)

Metro - Hampton Roads 98? ... El Tanque hits the late winner to send us thru in the Open Cup. Barely anyone at this match (Kean U) and those of us in the stands abused the ref, the H.R players and Alexi Lalas to no end.... Lalas gave us the finger, a H.R. player tried to get into the stands due to our thoughts on his wife... just a great footballing experience from the stands, one of my most fav matches I've ever attended.

The hijinks at the hotel was Animal House-esque. Bike jousting in the park... one of the best tailgates we ever had at 9 AM. So much goodness from that trip.

It was an all timer. Despite the loss in the final, I'd have no problem reliving that day 5x.

I still have a weird soft spot for the 2003(or 04) season opener against Freddy Adu and DC. It was Freddy's first game.
