#1347548 Florin Tănase

I wouldn't describe this as a very big splash, but OK.  Hope he can adjust to this level if this is legitimate.  He's got 110 appearances and 26 goals under his belt across all comps for his current club.

We've paid transfer fees for 4 guys, if we sign this guy it will be at least our second highest ever, not sure how that isnt a big splash.

Taxi was so fucking hype today, him in the series last year and we punch them in the mouth and win. Makes such a physical and technical difference.

#1345825 What is the front office doing?

Posted by Mibabalou on 09 May 2019 - 01:59 PM

I've talked to a few people who have a lot of insight on the day-to-day elements.

From what I hear, Denis Hamlett has little to no connections and those that do meet with him say he has no business acumen. While many wanted to play for Marsch, the same excitement for playing for Armas isn't there.

Let's take a look at changes since July, when Marsch left:
* Signed Adreas Ivan, who had already been on trial while Jesse was here.
* Signed Brian White from the reserves
* Brought Abang back when he couldnt get anyone else to take him
* Traded within the league for Jean-Christophe Koffi
* Traded within the league for Amro Tarek
* Traded to move up in the waiver draft for Marcus Epps
* Signed academy prospect Omir Fernandez, who would have signed regardless of coach/sporting director
* Made trades to get more draft picks
* Mathias Jorgensen, who barely saw time in Scandanavia, and is now behind...
* Tom Barlow, signed from reserves

But wait, there is more. Let's look at our USL team.
* Outside of the draft picks and former academy players, we signed Elney. I dont think they said his name once yesterday in the USL match.
* Amarildo came from Red Bull Brasil.
* Oh Edgardo Rito and Miguel Silva? They share the same agent as Casseres Jr.

Step further - U23s.
Most of the U23s are strictly players recommended by current first team or USL team players, in addition to academy players.

Also, why are academy coaches leaving in record fashion? Hmmm....

Jeez, really shows how bad it is.

Whats the reasoning on academey coaches leaving in record fashion??

All this shows is we just dont have the ability to go out and get a MLS 4.0 level guy like a Nico Lodero or Ruiz

As someone whos watched every match for both the teams United and Metro for over a decade we have a better chance over turning the deficit then they did.

Imagine if we had 10 senior injuries and playing the 4/5/6 choice CM's and the only options off the bench were teenagers.

Get to halftime 1-0 and then it turns into who can hold nerve.

What is happening right now is houston is an absolute disgrace its 95% tigres fans at an away match.

Mls  needs to step in and give them 5/10% of total tickets and that's it. no away fans or colors in other sections

An empty stadium is better than this, its an absolute joke.
