I think we would see receivers or running backs out scoring QBs with that set up.
I'm actually OK with that. Why should QBs be the higher scorers by default? It may be the right thing to do, but I don't think it's a given that we must work around.
14 QBs scored more than 20 TDs last year - 4 had more than 39. The rest were between 31-20. That means that there was basically a top tier of 4 QBs, a middle tier of 5 or so, and then the other 5. If you keep the QB scoring modest, then those tiers will sort of naturally remain, which I'd argue is good. The more you make QB scoring worth, the more valuable that top tier will become and the bigger an advantage there will be to getting one of those top QBs.
By keeping the QB scoring relatively modest, we don't give those top QBs a disproportionate influence on the games. They outpace the rest of their position so much already, they don't need even more value.
This may mean that RBs and WRs outscore QBs more than they would otherwise, but since there are plenty more of those than QBs, everybody has access.
The more QBs score, the bigger advantage teams 1-3 in the draft will have.
Not the end of the world either way, but just the way I see it - and I think Tone means as well.
