[color="#0000ff"]Context is very important. It was shot in February as part of celebrating black history month. If you don’t think the first black president is going to be part of that, I’m not sure where your head is.

I'm opposed to Black History Month. I just want a history month where we can learn about the hate and discrimination of ALL people and admire the achievements of all people. From British oppression of the Celtic peoples to the current day US bombing of mooslam towelheads.

An investigation is underway to see if there was an intrusion of partisan politics into the classroom.

http://www.northjers...n/61640597.html

Why not just let the investigation go forward? Is the celebration of the achievement of the first Black President a fitting part of Black History Month? Yes. Was the song overly enthusiastic? Yes [and be careful one of the songs was to the tune of "Jesus loves the little children" we can't have that in a public school].
Was the song part of some master plot to indoctrinate the kids? Doesn't seem that way. But if it was they sure bothched it.

I do have a problem with someone videotaping kids apparently without the knowledge and/or permission of those involved and them posting the video online without blocking the faces of the kids.

From the people that brought you this guy,

comes even more genius! Good job, right wingers. Mind you this doesn’t mention the death threats that the principal received in Jersey.

Ahh, nothing like right-wing frothing at the mouth over something they don’t understand and likely don’t have the full story about.

Why not just let the investigation go forward?

This is a very odd question to ask since the link you provided said that an investigation will go forward and there was not a single mention of anyone attempting to block it.

Did you have a similar call for an investigation when this happened?

Pastor, my atatement "why not let the investigation proceed" was directed to those here who are so worked up over it. As to the White House Easter Egg Hunt do you equate an event at the White House with what goes on in a public school?

And in the links you gave, specifically the one that mentions "death threats" there was the following:

"Meanwhile, an operator at the head office of the B. Bernice Young Elementary School in New Jersey told RAW STORY on Friday morning that reports claiming the school was on "lockdown" after receiving "death threats" are "not true."

"It is not true that the school was on lockdown and I'm not aware of any threats," a woman with the school's head office said. Asked her name, she replied, "My name is Ann," then hung up.

A message was left with the school district's public relations officer for confirmation.

However, a New Jersey newspaper reported Friday morning that a school safety director insists officers found the report of "death threats" against the principal to be "unsubstantiated." Yet, a local Fox affiliate station claims police "confirmed" the threats, but would not specify their target(s).

In the early hours of Sept. 25, The Burlington County Times reported:

Public Safety Director Walt Corter said police also investigated reports that threats were made against the school district because of the video and found that they were unsubstantiated. "We will continue to work with the school, as we do daily to ensure student safety," Corter said.

MyFoxPhilly, an affiliate station, reported that police had "confirmed" on Thursday that threats were leveled, though "[they] did not say who or what was targeted." The station added:

On Friday morning, there was a larger than normal police presence at the school. Two police vehicles were parked in front of the entrance, and another officer was assisting a crossing guard nearby as national media crews descended on the quaint Central Jersey neighborhood.

In a separate MyFoxPhilly report, the school district outright refuted the claim of death threats, alleging that it had originated with a New Jersey radio station."

So the link you provided has multiple sources within the District denying any such threats.

Not entirely. When policy is discussed, it can have a similar impact at a public school. However, the White House is a residence as well. The president isn’t required to leave his personal beliefs at home for the sake of not hurting someone’s feelings. An Easter Egg hunt is just that.

Besides, there is a certain tradition to it. Depending on the tradition, of course, some deserve to stick around.

The teacher went a little overboard in the enthusiasm department but that if the parents of the children are not complaining why are you?

It's no secret that it was sung during BHM.

Johnny, it is a non-issue.

Those of us who are of a certain age can remember the song "For Johnson and Liberty too".

"And here's to the son of old Texas,
the star-spangled red, white, and blue.
We'll go to the great reclamation
for Johnson and liberty too".

Between the NEA attempting to use tax money to engage in propaganda and the Senate Finance Committee Chairman calling for a gag order on Humana Insurance to stifle dissent during the "health care reform" debate there are plenty of real issues to worry about.

Who the fucks DC United,

The Metro marches on!

Glory, glory Metro football
Glory, glory Metro football
Glory, glory Metro football
The Metro marches on!!

If we could beat United we could ask for nothing more,
We'll be burning down their houses, pimping their sisters out as whores.
We'll be using Etcheverry's head to wipe the blood up off the floor.

The Metro marches on oi oi oi!"

... the NEA attempting to use tax money to engage in propaganda ...

Evidence. Please.

Meanwhile, I'm sure this is just some "isolated" poll up on Facebook...

And now the White House is distancing itself from the NEA conference call which was solely reported by "right wing bloggers".

Some of us can remember when stories like this were broken by the mainstream media.

"Government agencies are not supposed to be engaged in political activities," Sloan said. "Here, because they didn't veer off into 'This is about the election,' where you'd get into violations of the Hatch Act, it's not illegal. But it doesn't look good -- it looks terrible. It's inappropriate."

Okay. It is inappropriate. They are going to try and avoid that in the future. Sounds good. Go Team Obama for hearing a complaint and making a correction regardless of whether they needed to or not. It would have been nice if the last president did that…

Inappropriate, yes. Propaganda, NO. That is the equivalent of calling a house fly a black helicopter.

You need to chill with the rhetoric.

http://www.foxnews.c...troversial-nea/

“Yosi Sergant, who was director of communications for the NEA until he was reassigned this month in the wake of the controversy, offered his resignation Thursday afternoon, the NEA said in a written statement.
"His resignation has been accepted and is effective immediately," the statement read.
Sergant was one of several officials on an hour-long conference call on Aug. 10 hosted by the NEA, the White House Office of Public Engagement and United We Serve, a nationwide initiative launched by President Obama to increase volunteerism.
The official participants -- including Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement Buffy Wicks and Michael Skolnik, political director for hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons -- sought focused efforts by the approximately 75 artists on the call to produce works of art that supported the Obama administration's agenda in areas like health care, energy and environment, education and community renewal.”

It sure sounds like the participants in the conference call were trying to get the artists to create “information that is spread for the purpose of promoting some cause”.

My choice of words was correct.

That only works if you believe they were promoting a cause and "being good" and the best you have on that is "be a good student."

Pastor was the last post related to the NEA story?

We were discussing the NEA. What does "be a good student" have to do with that story?
