It's great to see an RBNY Homegrown who is an attacker and ACTUALLY SCORES.

I just wanna go to a game, be entertained, and leave happy.

1 out of 3 ain't bad, right?

Barlow coming on and Omir going off basically ended any momentum they had.

Shep sounds delusional claiming the draw is OK tonight. They need a streak of wins to climb back into it. Shep has lost his fucking mind.

Also not sure why Coronel wasn't up there at the end on the corner kick.

because we were playing for the tie the entire second half

The saddest part about reading through post game comments is that Philly fans keep harping on how ugly of a game it was, and I'm sitting here thinking we actually played some of our more attractive soccer of the season. All about perspective I guess, StruberBall has been so ugly I consider any amount of passing along the ground whatsoever to be a breath of fresh air.

We have forgotten how to play for a win.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Doesn't look too crowded tonight...

Is there a reason why the South Ward is so empty? I know it's a weeknight, but still.

That 4pm weekday open cup game in 90 degrees against the Union years ago (because of the Chelsea friendly) had a bigger draw in the South Ward than tonight.

Can't speak for anyone else but myself and not gonna derail the thread or anything. I'm probably in the minority here but in a normal year I can handle losing but add covid to the mix and I'll just watch from home. It's simply not worth it to me currently.

If this was a normal year, I'm there win, lose, draw, idc. I've never missed this many games before all this, it is what it is.

This really does look bad though...

Not to beat attendance to death, but one thing I have been very interested in is the front office's strategy on pricing and whether they will reconsider it next season. I think it's just one of many factors (team sucks, Red Bull branding, COVID, etc. etc. etc.), but definitely a factor.

There's an age old debate in sports sales management about whether it's better to get butts in seats no matter what or try to preserve the value of your season ticket. Up until a few years ago the team would very obviously dump large quantities of tickets on the resale markets for very cheap ($5-$10). I'm assuming the goal was just to get people in and hope they buy food and drink and decide to come back to a game later. At some point that strategy appears to have been shifted (I know of some teams in hockey that made a similar shift).

The face value of tickets is now very expensive and there are rarely really cheap resale tickets to be had. As a season ticket holder this is nice in one respect in that when I have to miss a game I've been able to resell my ticket for $25 to $35, which seems ludicrous given how empty the stadium is. They've preserved the value of the season ticket with this strategy, whereas several years ago I would feel like a fool paying $30 a game when I was seeing resale tickets for $5. The downside of course is that there is no one in the stadium aside from the die hard fans. It really feels like there are virtually no casual attendees these days. Personally I would be okay having my season ticket devalued if they went back to deep discounts and ticket dumps to get more people in.

Gotham FC seems to have the same strategy. I was shocked when I looked at their prices this summer and found that it would be as expensive to attend as it would be a Red Bull game.

Not to beat attendance to death

It is already dead.

no one in the stadium aside from the die hard fans.

And obviously, very few of those.

Gotham FC ... as expensive ... as ... a Red Bull game.

With equally sparse crowds. <2K on Saturday.

P.S. After each game, I get the same survey, which also asks if I am interested in a group outing.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.
