Was pretty sure there was another thread but couldn't find it so threw it in here.

Dyer says Amando Moreno is returning to the team.

Amando Moreno is set to return to the New York Red Bulls, the former academy product is close to a deal that would bring him back to the club.

On December 21, sources told Metro that Moreno was in discussions with the Red Bulls about leaving Tijuana in Mexico’s top flite and returning to the club where he got his professional start. Now multiple sources tell Metro that Moreno and the Red Bulls have reached a deal to bring the young forward back to MLS.

The deal, according to these sources, is for Moreno to sign an MLS contract with the club.

I'm excited about having Moreno back.

Would likely be in 18 regularly.

Wonder how they will want to use him too.  Could easily be outside or up top.

Kind of feel bad for Moreno because he went some very crucial years without many minutes.  Kid needs to play.

Don't feel bad for him. He made the call to move south of the border, even after Petke told him he would get more time the following year. Moreno thought he deserved more than 2 minutes in his 2 games.

Ultimately, hoping his legacy is more than the training incident with TH14.

he had one start for a half against Reading Utd in the USOC. it's probably there where he'll see the most minutes.

What was the Titi incident? Don't remember the details.

What was the Titi incident? Don't remember the details.

Moreno was running his mouth in one of his first training sessions with the first team, so Henry wiped took him out hard with a tackle.

Agudelo came out recently whining about how rough Henry was on him in training too. Not sure if that speaks more to how competitive and aggressive Henry was or how soft these kids were.

Agudelo's sure been a hit.  I'm going to say it's the latter.

A little of both. Some of the academy kids who came through early on needed to learn how to be pros. There was more of a gap then between the Academy and the first-team in terms of raw integration. Jesse does a great job of that now, bringing players in for a few days or a week to get some time with first-team training. The USL certainly helps too.

But Henry was also intense and it wasn't just directed towards the young kids. In one of his first training sessions at MSU, I saw him go studs-up, scissors on a veteran. This was a guy with a strong international pedigree in terms of his national team  who was also no slouch in terms of career or MLS accomplishments. And this was a 5-on-2 keep-away session at the beginning of the drill.

Needless to say the guy went down hard and started cursing his head off. He got up then realized it was Henry.

Nothing more was said.

The next training session, Henry elbowed him in the back in another drill early on. Backe smirked and walked away.

Actually happened before he signed with team first time. Recounted in this article (about halfway down) by Dave Martinez:

To be fair, hes still 22. Same age as a lot of the guys who come through college, and Xolos training is probably just as good if not better than the fucked up NCAA system.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

With 11 appearances in four years, he's probably a reclamation project more than anything.

That being said, I think he can come good for us. He just needs a little work. And actual minutes.
