I can't speak for the other sections in the stadium, but there hasn't been any significant increase in ticket prices in 101. The only increase which I saw was that there are more games this season therefore one is paying more for the whole season, but the same price for each individual game.
I was surprised there was no increase in per game cost. Like everything else in this world, costs go up. And I would expect them to in the future. Now, if they increased the cost by 50%, I would consider dropping one of my two season tickets. Until then, the $18 or so I am paying to go to a live soccer game is a solid deal.
A movie these days costs $12, so paying 1.5 times the price of a movie for a live sporting event? Gret deal in my opinion. But as that ticket price increases to $20, $25, and $30+, the value in that ticket will decrease.
To be honest, instead of the membership scheme (which I consider very seedy) they should've just raised the price of a season ticket by $25. I really wouldn't have had a problem with that, it's the method they chose to extract more from us that I object to.

I didn't look at the 'membership' as a perk, I looked at it as something that was included with my season tickets. Next year if they expect me to pay for it I'll reasses the overall value of the tickets and the experience, just like I did this year. If I feel it's not worth it, I won't buy it. This and any other organization have had hundreds of schemes. But in the end the consumer will always look at the bottom line.Jay, the problem is this isn't a perk. The "Membership" scheme is (with the exception of the Krafts sending in their gestapo in the Fort) the most disgusting, sleazy treat your fans like they are suckers thing an MLS team has ever done. Just because you get this "perk" this year doesn't mean they are going to do it next year. The reason they offered the "perk" was because they knew they had to to get people to agree to this. When this scheme was announced, everyone should have told them "Hell no", and they would've been forced to abandon in it. Now that it's here, it's here to stay and I would not be shocked if everyone has to pay the Red Bull PSL next year. Think about this for a minute: do you think Portland, Seattle, Vancouver or any other MLS team would do something like this (Heck, Toronto hasn't and they are known for treating their fans like crap)?

BTW, I find it amusing that it is erroniously being called a PSL. A PSL is a one-time fee. As long as you keep buying season ticks, you never have to pay it again. What we have is a membership, like half the big teams in the world require in order to buy tickets. In the Prem, you generally can't even buy a single-game ticket without buying a membership. Its how they keep the hooligans out. Those supporters all feel okay with it, at least okay enough that they have all been paying it for years. Somehow because we're not a "big team," like, say, Fulham, that makes it the sleaziest thing to ever happen to ticketholders in the history of history.

Many Bundesliga clubs do the same thing for season tix. You can however get single game tix with no fee.
Main diff is that they only release tickets 2-3 months ahead of the game. But to buy directly from Werder you need the membership
Bremen even has a cashless stadium. You need to buy a prepaid card to make any transaction in the stadium
And that's as 'real' of a club as they get...
The set up here is not too bad

The situation in the UK is totally different. For starters there is no such thing as single entity which means all the teams here are essentialy owned by the league. In short these are not "clubs" as they have been established in the UK. The club thing evolved from those entities being clubs. And just because they do it in the UK doesn't mean it will fly here. How many other sports teams (exempting gridball teams) charge their season ticket holders a fee just for the right to buy tickets? In major pro sports in this country I can't think of an example in the NBA, NHL or MLB. An MLS team that has trouble filling it's building doing it is a complete joke.

I'm as unhappy about the price jump on my tickets as most people, but I just don't get the anxiety over the $25 fee. I don't care what they call it, if I have to spend it to get my tickets then I include that in the price.
I'm in 128, so seats are 720 + 25 = 745 for the season or 37.25 a game. Buying those same season on a per game basis is listed at $50 per game or 1000 for the season with no added fee. Even _with_ the fee, season tickets are _still_ $12.75 cheaper. Seeing as I make 95% of the games it's far more sensible and affordable to buy the season tickets and in turn also ensure I have the same seats, and the same friends around me, each game. That's a cost for the convenience that I'm willing to pay.
Could I rant and rave and refuse to buy tickets because of the added "fee"? Sure, but it's only hurting me since _I'm_ the one that wanted to go in the first place. Instead I choose to toss it in with the rest of the price of the ticket and realize I'm _still_ paying 25% less then those that didn't buy their tickets in bulk.

BTW, I find it amusing that it is erroniously being called a MEMBERSHIP. A MEMBERSHIP is paid with dues. As long as you remain a member in good standing, you have voting privileges that can affect the operation of your club. What we have is a DISCOUNT CARD, like half the MERCHANTS in the world offer for their goods and services to frequent buyers. <snip about other leagues> Those supporters all feel okay with it, at least okay enough that they have all been paying it for years. They said the RSVP is transferable and they would put someone else on the guest list.
I was also told "The complimentary beverages will include beer, wine, soft drinks, and water."
Who wants the ticket? All I'm asking in return is you buy me a jagerbomb next time I see you.

It all started off nicely enough. They brought all the Red Card holders who chose to attend to the Club Seats Lounge and we had our fill of free food (hot dogs, chicken fingers, potato salad, rice, potato chips, cookies, fresh fruit, etc.) and they had an open bar. When the game actually started, however, things went quickly downhill. Their DirecTV was on the fritz so the picture kept freezing as they continually lost the satellite signal. So, there were all these supposed VIPs there and nobody could watch the game. After halftime, they moved the viewing out to the Arena seating area and put the picture up on the jumbotron, but they neglected to pipe the audio over the stadium loudspeakers. Until the last ten minutes of the game, they played loud dance music instead.
Meanwhile, I thought I'd use halftime to browse the Bull Shop and maybe use my Red Card member 25% discount to pick up a few things. Unfortunately for me, they decided that the 25% discount wouldn't count until two weeks from now at the first home match of the season. What was the point of making everybody wait two weeks to get their discount? Everybody at the event was a Red Card holder!
Anyway, it was a very disappointing experience and if I had had any idea that this was going to happen, I would have just stayed home and watched on TV. At least I know my TV works properly at home.
