Teams allowed extra substitution if game goes to extra time. Extra sub can be used even if team did not use all subs in regulation.

Apparently they've previously trailed the rules last year's Confederation Cup and the FA Cup. So like VAR, it seem this is part of a global trend. I don't have a big issue with it.

I've always felt that teams should be able to make multiple subs at halftime, to be counted as one sub.  It doesn't slow the game down, if they're at mid-field prior to kick-off, checking in with the fourth official.

If not then, why not at the start of Extra Time?  Again, no delay of game.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Definitely agree with that.

As for this rule, in general I think it helps us in the playoffs.  Believe we have better depth than most teams.  Not a big change, but I think a small advantage for us.

I think 5 yeah.  It's disappointing from my kinda selfish position of wanting to see as many RBNY II players get minutes as possible, but probably a good thing as someone who wants to see USL succeed as a serious league.

Frankly, since I am merely a fan and a not a fancy American soccer writer, I'm going to congratulate Wright-Phillips on a well hit goal. If I was an American soccer writer, I'd claim that the recently retired Henry was wearing an invisibility cloak and carried the ball into the net for the obviously unskilled Wright-Phillips.

Correct. The USL changed from 5 to 3 this year. Part of the requirements to become D2.

Nah - endurance and minimal substitution is a fundamental characteristic of the game.    Minimizing substitutions is not about substitutions slowing the game down, it's about the need for fitness and minimal coaching influence once the game is underway, something that differentiates soccer from other team sports and a key factor in what makes it so great.

But this overtime rule just makes sense.    The three-sub rule was made for 90 minutes games.
