Well, the way he came into pre-season not match fit at all to me is a strong signal he's ready to shuffle off his cherkboard past! I'd almost think signing him to a month-long contract would be too long for him.

Really? I thought with all the baby boomers retiring, they'd be demand. Although, I guess maybe that's long term?

Just my experience - it seems like there's demand but not in social science (though there are some openings for economics - 9 credit hour endorsement but most social science people are scared away because it involves graphs and numbers- and in psychology - 18 credit hour endorsement which is too much for most people) and not in english. The big areas of demand are in math and science.

I would also concur about getting a Master's as not opening doors necessarily. When I got the Master's there were a few school districts in South Chicago/Southwest suburbs that I suddenly became too costly for.

I for one am honestly tired of school and living off loans. Unfortunately a graduate degree is helpful in marketing oneself in a tight education field.

Also, unfortunately, not even the Coast Guard (yes, I've attempted to get into every service) will let someone in with Crohn's disease. To think, had I not had to leave ROTC (due to my illness), i'd be a lieutenant by now!

Anyway, hope this works out...

This sounds incredibly like me. I had to leave ROTC after getting Crohn's Disease, went into education, and found there was nothing out there for a Social Science teacher with a bachelors. The absolute best luck to you.

In Topic: LEAGUE CBA THREAD

I doubt the league is going to get destroyed. With as many SSSs there are now I don't see them all staying empty permanently. (Not that an open stadium has brought any teams to the Sears Centre.)

But this is bad, bad news and I hope they can get their heads on straight. Maybe the money's there to be had. My guess is it's not. Since television money isn't abundant I know one way or the other it will translate into higher ticket prices either way, which will not help what is still a niche league.

Personally, I have a hard time empathizing for professional athletes - even the ones making $30,000 a year - going on strike when the process of striking would make a lot of other workers unemployed by demanding higher pay to do something most other people pay money to do. If soccer players weren't having their medical bills paid for or were being cheated out of contractual obligations that would be different. In my mind this isn't between the players and the workers with a winner and a loser - the janitors, people who work in the parking lot, concessions workers, and everyone else who works are in the middle too. YMMV.

I hope this ends well and that everyone is content in the end.

Respectfully where you see "spectre of Communism" I see "Politicians are more electable if they promise to build new things than to honor long-term financial obligations".
