Does this mean anything to us?

Ralf Rangnick will step back from his position as #RBLeipzig’s sporting director after this season. Instead he will become the new director of football at Red Bull where he will be in charge of #RBNYMLS_19_RBNY.png and the new Red Bull club in Bragantino, Brazil.

Kinda seems like good news.

Is this essentially the role that he had prior to playing caretaker at Leipzig? Either way, it seems like a good thing for Ragnick to be involved with RB Global again.

Reading more, it seems like a slightly different role. I'd guess that his main job is to get the Brazilian club moving, but it would be great if he were to play
a more hands on role with NY too.

optics are not the best, but if we regularly are developing a player or two good enough to play for a champions league Bundesliga the team will be in better shape than they are now given the current MLS rules.

We are still developing guys well, but stagnating a little on developing the cream of crop guys so any extra eyes and hands in the machine are welcome.

On a big picture view, the 3 RB teams are very competitive and have winning records. No super teams, but very good in their respective competitions. From a corporate point of view, they send out a positive image.

just fill the Director of Scouting and Academy Director positions and academy coaching roles. if we're really taking a pounding there, the news about this won't register, imo.

As if it needed to be said. Fuck rb and their synergy.

I can't find a single negative thing to say about this. Ralf Rangnick is a genius.

The fact that people are spiting this because "hur hur red bull out amirite" speaks volumes.  We were a top team with ONE "can't miss prospect" (Tyler Adams) and we broke the points record, and were an injury away from probably winning MLS Cup last year.

The new guy (an extremely well respected coach and eye for talent) explicitly wants to bring more "can't miss prospects" to places like Brasil and RBNY.  And we are opposed to this because...fuck red bull? Give me a break

Same people cheering this will be the first blaming the manager when we win jack shit for year 24 and have no MLS Cup.

Some of y'all deserve the playoff losses for excusing this shit.  FOH.   We bringing in Almiron soon?  We got another Adams in the pipeline?  Or are we out here just snagging rando's outta Denmark and fucking whinging it?  Think I know which way this is gonna go...

The goal of a football club is to win trophies.  The only thing we ask as fans is that they make that their first priority.  If they don't care about results and simply care about developing players for someone else, we're not a proper football club.  I'm sorry.  We're not playing the same game as any other squad in this league.

If you think this club is going to go out and get us some major young talent and spend the money necessary to get them into the squad, you need your head examined (especially after Kaku's CA saga).  Ragnick is here to bring in cheap young guys and hope one works out.  Then ship him off to Leipzig as soon as he shows promise.  That's his directive.

Great role for Ralf, highly questionable for us.

Deserve? Take a chill pill.
People are trying to make something positive out of this move. IMO, the general impression is that RBHQ barely knows that we exist. Sending a presumed top guy to NY, if not exile, suggests that we will at least have a voice, even if he is just this end of a pipeline.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Outrage? Rather, to the surprise of no one.

Spot on. But, we can hope for crumbs.
