#1354162 Metro - Worms Game Thread

Robles
Duncan-Parker-Long-Taxi
CCJ-Davis
Sims-Kaku-Royer
White(hopefully)

Maybe Muyl deserves another start, cant see benching Sims, or Royer again though

Since the Royer switch to forward, we're 1-3-1. His only goal is from the spot.

I wonder how much of that is no White, could try Barlow instead of running a severely hindered BWP out there

Its naive to think that we will hire anyway who doesnt fit or buy in to the RBG style of play.

Maybe its a young coach affiliated with Salzburg or Leipzig or someone previously underneath the umbrella.

After a crazy win over DC thats what you have to say?
Agree we are starting games much better

An observation thats all.....Match was messy after the Rooney RC. We dropped off at the end of the half, scrappy 2nd half, did well enough to get the 3 points.

CCJ was good, Kaku freed up by the new formation wrinkle, despite his finishing Royer has looked better as a 2nd forward as opposed to playing an inverted wing. Robles gutty effort, Murillo very bright going forward and solid for the most part in defense. Buckmaster with good combo play to help set up 1st goal.

Playoffs shouldnt be an issue unless we completely tank the rest of the season, with how weak the rest of the East looks we should have a good shot at 4th and maybe 3rd (over Philly) and hosting at least one playoff match.

Match vs. DC at RBA in the playoffs would be electric

#1352066 Young premier league winger = Josh Sims

My guess is he just heads to nyc and gets ready for smurfs.

Debut on that pitch might be trash though, Colorado??

Guy has to hit the ground at Henry levels for him to be the real addition we need.

If he debuts vs. Colorado he will have 6 matches to make an impact. A joke of the highest order.

It was a good game.  We dominated.

Guess you didnt watch the 2nd half. It was as terrible as the 1st half was good. No urgency to get a 2nd at 1-0 or 1-1

#1351253 So now what's the ideal XI (and subs) from late August on?

Posted by TK_RBNY on 09 August 2019 - 07:21 AM

BWP bags 20 goals a season, he gets one injury where he misses significant playing time this year and all of the sudden his career is over? Lol

Last year of contract, age, new CBA, shaping up to be an important offseason. DPs may no longer exist, and it could be an opportunity for the gap between the spenders and non spenders to grow.

Either way cant imagine hes coming back unless hes willing to sit the bench and be a spot starter/late game sub.

BWP
Royer Kaku Sims
Rza Casseres
Taxi Parker Long Murillo
Robles

Meara Tarek Buck Muyl Etienne Davis White

Id do RZA and CCJ, it will probably be Davis and CCJ. White up top Id assume

Maybe Dyer is trolling

#1350516 Rece Buckmaster Signed

Posted by TK_RBNY on 03 August 2019 - 08:58 AM

I want to hope for the best and just think that it's a straight-up swap for Epps on the supplemental roster: clearly we need a right back more than another winger. Two senior slots are still open...

Oh, who am I kidding.

I think there are restrictions on who we can sign on a supplemental roster spot, limited to RB2 guys essentially.

A little comforted that we signed a defender and not another attacking player like Stroud to that spot, hopefully that means we are looking at other additions from outside the org.

Im not holding my breath

#1350243 Room for improvement on our roster

Posted by TK_RBNY on 29 July 2019 - 11:03 AM

In an ideal world where we arent just screaming into the void

After this window
Robles
Murillo-Parker-Long-Kemar
New #6-CCJ
TAM RW-Kaku-Royer
White

Offseason:
DP #9 to replace BWP
Omir worked more into the first XI to take over for Royer when his contract is up
Trim the wing depth, let Ivan and Epps go. Omir, Muyl, Etienne, Valot? is enough cover if you sign a TAM level RW
Replace whomever from the back 4 leaves in the transfer window (Murillo, Long)
Meara takes over for Robles

Going to have to make up for our lack of activity since last summer and the rest of the league improving around us. Just puts more pressure on the winter when some of these moves dont get done in the next 10 days.

Posted by TK_RBNY on 29 July 2019 - 08:33 AM

9-10 days until the window closes and we havent even heard so much as a concrete rumor.

What are these BS artists going to say when are signings are more non impact, non first XI contributors?

#1350042 Room for improvement on our roster

Posted by TK_RBNY on 27 July 2019 - 12:54 PM

Its not a valid excuse, especially with the scouting network available through Leipzig and Salzburg.

You cant tell me we cant find a single first XI contributor over three transfer windows. The rest of the RB teams are signing players that fit the overall system.

Roster construction is so very poor. No ball winning, energy drink soccer playing CM to replace Adams, a log jam of mediocre wing players, and no viable LB option that cost us MLS Cup last year.

Just a bunch of bullshit. Hope RBG has a reset planned for this offseason, because this brain trust is clearly in over their heads.

No matter your belief on how this team should be constructed, it is really disheartening to see other teams actively trying to improve their teams.

No academy director, inactive sporting director, absent parent club. Bah

Have to wonder what the situation is with Ivan, Fernandez, and Mines. Haven't been with either team's 18 in a few weeks now.

Mines is injured I believe. Ivan and Fernandez should be in the 18 for the 1st team tomorrow? I have no idea. Omir needs minutes, unless hes injured its hard to believe that hes not getting minutes with the 1st team or the 2s. Hes shown himself capable at the MLS level
