No doubt, running back the same front four from the end of the year is foolish.
This squad and manager produced a #6 finish in the Eastern conference, and mid table overall in the league...not good enough. There has to be talent added on to the roster, and if we are to believe Dyer the team is looking for a new #9.
Sims is a cop out signing IMO, we know what he is so hes not moving the needle from where we were at the end of last season. Im fine with him occupying the other wing spot, but we could have set our sights higher.
I think Royer continuing to be on the squad makes things messy, hes not an effective winger anymore and would be better utilized as a 2nd striker. If youre planning on bringing in a new #9 that relegates one of him or White to the bench.
If you want to run a 4-2-2-2
Royer/BW - #9
Taxi (New LB) - Parker - Long (Tarek)- Duncan
Im worried because Hamlett has a month until pre-season starts and we still have to address first XI holes, potential exits of Long and Taxi and their replacements, and depth especially along the back line where the team is very thin.
