The obvious answer to me is John Wolyniec, with Luke Rodgers behind him.

I was in elementary school during the early days of MLS, so I had literally never heard of Rhett Harty until I read this.

Woly also holds the stats of being the only one to ever score an MLS cup final goal for us. Shame we didn't even get to celebrate it for long since Columbus scored like 90 seconds later.

They revised it, saying that only players count, even though they mentioned Olsen's "coaching" stint with DC. So my final four are:

Titi

BWP

Robles

Mathis

Titi and BWP MUST be on that list. If the final two come from Robles, Mathis, Petke, Amado, JPA, Dax, we're fine. I can live with Timmy too, and Gio for sentimental reasons. Maybe Sacha... but a big maybe. Anyone else would be pure nonsense.

i think TH14, BWP, Robles are locks.  The 4th one can go one of several ways, but it's hard to argue against Amado Guevara, who was the only metro/rbny player to win MVP.  Mathis, JPA all had good runs with our team, but their accolades were eventually surpassed by other players on the list. No one has surpassed Guevara yet though.

Petke as a coach, sure, but earlier in the thread they specified only based on their attributes / contribution as a player. Based on playing days only I'd put petke below most of those on the list. I'd argue that he's not even the most deserving defender (probably goes to Taxi)

Amado, Mathis, TH14, and the Goat BWP for his length of time and stats and helping win those supporters shields which anywhere else in the world would be league titles
I just want Metro to win a title sometime in my lifetime.

I cannot decide which goal for us was best ...

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

MLS went with Titi, BWP, Robles, Dax.

Can't complain. If Petke's coaching sting doesn't count, Dax is a fair call over JPA and Cletus.

HAHAHAHA Sean Johnson is on the Smurfs mount. What an overrated piece of crap.

I'm a relative newbie, from 2010 on:

1) Thierry Henry
2) BWP
3) Dax
4) Robles

I would not have put money on this, woulda figured they pick at least some from the metro era

It's fair. The team's success has been 2013-18. Nothing else compares. As much as I love Clint's run as the best player in the league, that was a short time... and didn't get us a trophy.

Loved Dax, but JPA 62G/14A, Clint 45/26, Dax 15/30.

Amado 39/39, Gio 44/13, Sacha 22/54
Royer 47/21 @ age 29, hope he hits 70/30

Can't compare goals for a striker and a defensive midfielder.

Dax 2 trophies, JPA and Clint 0.

Also Dax #3 all-time in games played. (Was #1 when he got traded.)

Can't go wrong with any of the three.
