Well, someone is leaving for Rece Buckmaster...

EDIT: "Rights to a player" makes me wonder if this is a current player, someone we own rights to, or an HGP. Hoping it's not a current player.

Well, someone is leaving for Rece Buckmaster...

No idea who this is. Not happy about losing a player of ours for a defender I have barely heard of.

Not only is he irreplaceable, he gets high marks from former Metro great Danny O'Rourke!

I kinda like the idea of drafting 3 central defenders. If one of them works out to be a capable backup, you've done good.

Rece Buckmaster is a pretty cool name.

The DirtySouth had him as ATL's 1st round pick in their mock draft.

"With the last pick of the first round, you’re likely not going to find that ultra diamond in the rough like Julian Gressel. Rece Buckmaster is a versatile defender with not a lot of size. Sound familiar? Versatility will be key for Atlanta United under de Boer. The ability to play a three-back or four-back formation will be useful. Having a defender that can play multiple positions like Franco Escobar, Julian Gressel and Michael Parkhurst is vital to being able to do that.

Buckmaster played all four years at Indiana, earning Second-Team All-Big Ten honors in his senior season. While he projects as more of a defensive player in MLS, he was able to get forward and create plenty of chances from the right back spot in college. This demonstrates his ball-playing ability, which will serve him well in a technical style of play that demands playing in tight spaces and moving the play from the back without panicking.

Parkhurst won’t be around for too much longer, but while he’s here, someone like Buckmaster would be a perfect protege for him to take under his wing."

He sounds like a hunting rifle. I'm here for it.

Easy chant of "You Got Bucked" when he makes a good tackle too.

5'8", 145 lbs

Are you sure he isn't an outside back?

He's a right back -- my bad. That name threw me off.

Either the Union or the Red Bulls are going to look really stupid in a few years.

Sounds like the kind of sub you use when you have a lead and need to protect it.

Loebe had 1 goal, 1 assist for U23s in 2 games.

Last German we drafted didn't exactly work out.

Hey man, don't shit on probably successful real estate broker Leo Stolz.
Frankly, since I am merely a fan and a not a fancy American soccer writer, I'm going to congratulate Wright-Phillips on a well hit goal. If I was an American soccer writer, I'd claim that the recently retired Henry was wearing an invisibility cloak and carried the ball into the net for the obviously unskilled Wright-Phillips.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

A poor man's Connor Lade?

His nickname is "Rico", which is almost as badass as his last name.

Rich man's Lade because he sounds like a better defender...of course "sounds like" doesn't mean much till he actually plays.

Rico Buckmaster. I love it.

I hope he responds to everything people say to him with "hell yeah, brother."

Red Bulls trading for multiple picks and investing in the draft, just like we all predicted...
