I'm going to throw a name out there for DP3 which will probably cause everyone to think I'm either dumb or nuts (if you don't already think so), but I say they go after Jozy. He's young and probably looking for a way to get the hell out of Sunderland. He's played here, loves playing here, and it would make sense for ownership to go after a guy who is a USMNT player that they can market around (how well they would do so is up for debate). Garber would probably also help in the process for the same reason: bringing home a well-liked and respected national team player and place him in a big market in NY. Yes, it would be an almost zero chance of it happening, but why the hell not at least try.

Freddy Montero part deux...a youthful attacking player who is hungry and who we can build the team around.

SAO PAULO (AP) Former Brazil and Barcelona midfielder Rivaldo says he is leaving Brazilian second-division club Sao Caetano because of knee pain.

The 41-year-old player made the announcement through his official Twitter account on Thursday, saying he "was not able to recover from pain" in his knee.

That's impressive playing age for a guy whose top flight career more or less ended 11 years ago.

Maybe he had a gambling problem.

No worries Jeff, he brings a lot to the table across the board. Jozy can brush up on his French to get a move to PSG when meh goes back to Europe!

This kid Dani Cuevas who played for the US U-20s may be considering MLS.  The process to get him is not so easy, but he would be a good pick up.  I saw him play left wing for the U-20s, I don't know if that's his regular position, but he was quite good there.  Quick, technical, a good 1v1 dribbler.  I definitely think we should try for him if he's available.

Don't we have like a bazillion academy midfielders playing in college right now? Aren't any of those good winger prospects or perhaps one that could be converted to a good outside back?

Getting Jozy is nothing but a pipe dream. Completely unrealistic.

If any of those academy players were good enough, they'd have signed for the team like Miazga.

Prospects, yes.

Ready to step up to the senior team, no.

Adam Najem (Akron) and Scott Thomsen (UVA) could possibly play the wings.

There is no no way that Petke and Roxburgh will be willing to deal with Adu.
