Certainly a combination of factors, none of which have to do with success on the field. Difficulties in marketing, people who wont cross the Hudson for games, problems accessing/leaving RBA, all combine with the brand issue.
Because the numbers are undisclosed, we do not know for sure how bad they are. Nor do we know how much of the claimed ticket distribution is actual face-value sales. Our own eyes tell us how many empty seats there are.
A second leg on a Thursday night is a hard sell.
If we do well in the first leg, interest should be up.
I do not see a full house, am hoping for a good crowd.
IMO, if we advance to MLS Cup, RBA will be full.
