The Gs for the first leg:

Penedo; Franklin, Gonzalez, Opare, Dunivant; Rogers, Sarvas, Juninho, Zardes; Keane ©, Donovan.

Subs: Rowe; Leonardo, DeLaGarza; Courtois, Jimenez, Garcia; Villarreal.

Halftime - y'all know the drill:  0-0, more possession, great opportunities, nothing to show, blah blah frickin' blah.

That's more like it:  BLAMMO - FRANKLIN with a 30-yard shot 47 minutes in!

Oh, looks like Jimenez came in for Rogers at 60 minutes.

Garcia in for Sarvas at 82 minutes.

And it ends 1-0, which basically means we're ahead 1-0 at halftime.  I sure hope we don't regret all the blown opportunities for a bigger lead.  As it is, we'll on the road protecting a lead on Thursday:  Expect lots and lots of bunkering.

Keane was rightly pissed at himself and ran straight to the locker room as soon as the game ended. I hope that disappointment fires him up and he scorches Rimando on Thursday night.

I should have this post as a macro, but Keane needs to play more simply.  He tries to do way too much.

Angry Landon was doing great work last night - checking back, running off the ball.  Keane was messing that up often as not.

And... Almost every time Zardes gets the ball in space and runs at people, something good happens.  It seems to me that the G's ought to actually try to make that happen.  Instead, Zardes would get ball, beat his man and then stop and say "Where's Robbie?".

And for the second leg:

Penedo; Franklin, Gonzalez, Opare, Dunivant; Rogers, Sarvas, Juninho, Zardes; Keane ©, Donovan.

Subs: Rowe; Leonardo, DeLaGarza; Courtois, Stephens, Garcia; Villarreal.

Crap - Velasquez and his mullet head in a cross for Fake 35 minutes in.

De La Garza in for Rogers at 74 minutes.

Fake has a disallowed goal in the last 10 minutes.  The announcers sound like they're about to cry over the injustice of it all, until a replay shows Borchers was clearly offside.

1-1 after 180 minutes.  Yay, another half hour of this.

Fucking shit:  Morales scores off a free kick at 98 minutes.

Villarreal in for Opare at 105 minutes.  I don't know why Bruce waited so long to bring in some fresh legs, though.

Courtois in for Sarvas a few minutes after that.

And the series ends 2-1.  Fitting, I suppose, that an orgy of horrific finishing is what does us in.

Winning isn't everything.  But losing fucking sucks.

The G's certainly didn't deserve to move on vs. RSL.  Poor finishing and poor defending against set pieces.  At no point did it seem they were dangerous in front of the net. Too much of the run of play went through Keane and Donovan.  RSL was able to shut them down and insistence to keep trying led to an easily predictable attack.

Fuck.  I hate losing, but we didn't deserve to win.

Damn Kries! Knew he couldn't win with 11 men, so he played with 10.
