anyone still missing Felipe

I always liked him. Great smile!

Good value for us in Parker trade, as well.
Career numbers similar to Tab Ramos.

His little guy was cute, too!

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Speaking of which, anyone still missing Felipe and his soccer-god-angering distracting fuckshit?

He was a good player for us.

If Adams and Rzatkowski - and even Davis - leave in the offseason, we could probably use a player like Felipe next year!

Obviously we needed the help at CB, Parker's been a season-altering pickup, but I was a bit worried when Felipe left; I wasn't sure about Davis, but he has really come into his own in Felipe's former position.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

I thought we really suffered from not having Dax in 2017, there were plenty of games where it felt like missing his ability as a player and a leader was directly impacting results.

I am amazed, despite liking Felipe a lot, at how little we've missed him this year. There hasn't been a single game where I found myself thinking "man if only Felipe were out there". The improvement of Adams and Davis this year made him 100% dispensable.

Yep. And both guys were way cheaper on the salary sheet.

On the flip side - when those young guys are good enough, they have a short shelf-live in MLS.

It's an ideal situation where we have enough of those career MLS vets (stand-outs like Kemar, BWP, Robles) and are able to pull from the youth movement where we have holes.

iirc, maybe it was less missing dax and more rotating in Zizzo and other at CB, rather than having the lockdown pairing that Miazga-Perrinelle was, and Long-Parker now. i don't miss trotting put Taxi/Zizzo at CB, but having Zubar and Baah on the roster were to be the solutions, when looking back, they weren't.

Long's 4 goals in 2018 in all competitions is tied for the 2nd best all-time for defenders:

Jamison Olave   2013    4
Diego Sonora    1998    3

Mike Petke  2000    3
Markus Holgersson   2012    3

The Justin Braun game?

Who? :)

2013 shield season. Away to Chivas USA. They finished second to last in the table and for good reason. Only DC was worse. The score line was closer than I thought but didnt make it hurt any less.

I still remember at the end of that season, someone compiled all of the CB pairings we used that season, and one of them was Lawrence - Ouimette.  We got hit bad with defensive injuries, but still.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.
