Does anyone know how much Red Bull has invested in total in MLS (cost of team, cost of stadium, overall losses)? Just trying to guess at what dollar number they'd need to warrant selling. I don't think they'd sell to just break even. The unfortunate truth is they can let this turn into a dumpster fire* and the team's value will probably continue to rise as the popularity of MLS rises (if you assume MLS will continue its upward arc).
At minimum, I wish MLS were able to force RB to change the logo to what RB Leipzeg uses and only allow the actual drink logo as the kit sponsor (but also reduce that in size). Corporation names are ok in cases like Bayer or PSV because when those clubs started 1000 years ago, the players were employees. Obviously not the situation any of the RB teams are in.
I just can't see Austria selling without making a legit profit when the league has so much potential.
*Despite what some may argue, it hasn't been. A finals appearance, a Supporter's Shield, last year...
