We've been looking at Yonkers properties lately.. crappy schools but awesome prices and looks like a good place to invest - I bet the schools get better in 20 years and values soar to match all the surrounding communities.

Now what I really want to know from you Jersey guys - what's a good beach town near Atlantic City that I could convince my lady would be a good investment for a summer place but that's still within cab distance from the casinos?

Calling @vflkirwan.  He's got a place in Brigantine, he can tell you all the dos and don'ts.  Great place, great beaches, short cab ride from AC.

Ocean City close enough to Atlantic City as well if you're looking for the family / boardwalk thing.

"Obviously, I want to make a living (in soccer), to say the least," he said. Ultimately, our goal is to win the MLS Cup, and I see no reason why we can't." - #4 Tyler Adams

Ocean City has a PDL club, the Nor'easters.

Went there for the USOC match against RB U-23s in 2013.

Margate might be a good choice. Easy cab distance to AC and property values are low right now. Would be a good time to invest in property there before things rebound due to the redevelopment going on in AC at the moment.

Ventor/Margate are a bit too city-ish for me with too many lights and pedestrian cross walks to watch out for.  The beaches also aren't that big.

Brigantine is much more laid back and the beaches are far bigger, especially as you get towards the South End of island.

If you are serious about Brigantine, I'd recommend checking out this site:

They only deal with real estate and summer/winter rentals on Brigantine, nowhere else.

FYI - After visiting many towns, touring several homes I moved to Westfield this summer.

This thread was quite useful/informative during my search.

Thanks to all for the tips and commentary.

Great town! 👍
Ranked 34th in NJMagazine's top 100.

I don't completely agree with the rankings, but my wife is happy with Ho-ho-kus & Glen Rock at #1 & #3.
