MTL in '16 was fun outside of the game. the game itself is something i won't forget, it was that demoralizing. acquiring Collin by May, getting Royer into the XI and BWP scoring more than a goal a game. all to ass out to MTL.

NE TFC and DC are the teams near us in pts. the team that ends up 4th could very well be the team that screws up the least within matches. NE was hot, they've cooled off. TFC has been inconsistent all yr. And DC has all that potential turmoil that players might mail in the rest of the season.

Sea-D

Por-L (blown out)

DC-W

PHI-D (if we're lucky)

Mtl-L

away playoff loss to ATL.

I don't think age is a requirement for a good captain. It just needs to be someone the team respects and admires. Of the 10 field players my guess is it should be Kemar.

totally, he's Cap'n for Ja-fucking-maica. and when i see those dudes play, they know that they may not have the necessary personnel to get the job done all the time, but they play focused and determined. reflects leadership.

Its naive to think that we will hire anyway who doesnt fit or buy in to the RBG style of play.

Maybe its a young coach affiliated with Salzburg or Leipzig or someone previously underneath the umbrella.

so basically a RBS RBL 1st team assistant who prob doesn't have much 1st div head coaching experience? those guys aren't expensive, the Teutonic version of Petke (1st gig) Marsch (2nd gig) and Armas (1st gig)? But if the team were to hire a former RB assistant who hasn't had much HC experience, how are things gonna be different with a newly ordained inexperience HC making rookie coaching mistakes/decisions?

would just be same guy with a different accent, with either more or less arms waving while talking.

yeah, not sure what Henry brings as a coach. if anything, hope he'd be hired to be solely a liaison to higher end players and convince them to come to MLS despite them having to:

a) endure long travel for league matches

b) fly coach while doing so

c) press during an American summer [in the Northeast], not European fall/spring

d) press some more

e) be coached by a guy who is probably on his 1st or 2nd pro HC job

or basically...hire a scout who can sell playing for this team to players that aren't reclamation projects or young prospects.

not so sure about Woly with the 1st team:

his gameday 18 is usually better skill-wise than the other 35 teams in USL-C. his gameday 18's salaries are prob equal to or better than most of the other teams in USL-C. Woly has better weapons at the USL-C level against that comp, than he would with the 1st team (~23rd in salary).

if Woly was to coach the 1st team, he wouldn't have the luxury of bringing in players from a team "above him" to supplement the roster he had on any given gameday. with RB2, he can get whoever he wants coupled with who is contractually bound to the reserve team, WHENEVER he wants. can't do that at the MLS level.

i think Woly knows a good gig when he sees it. gets to stay local, prob never wants to leave. that's fine by me, tbph.

God I miss Luke Rodgers....

we all do. really fucking humble, too.

what has always stuck out to me about Rodgers was when he and Lloyd Sam were on trial at Portsmouth. Told Sam that if he could he'd play for us, he'd play for free. Crazy stuff.

like the only time BWP looked okay when he wasn't up top, was when Abang was here and it was during the early portion of '15, when BWP was at LW Grella at RW in the 1st Derby game at Yankee Stadium.

#1353321 New 2020 RBNY Jersey - Black?

I say bring back the dark navy blue uniform from 2011. Those were some of the best the team has ever had.

the 2011 kit is still the only RB 1st team jersey I've ever sought to purchase and have worn. I own both RB2 kits from this yr, tags still on both. 1st team training tops are the best, however. great base layer, etc.

We could try to kick the ball into their hands inside the 18!

worked for former "future Metro" Roberto Baggio in the 98 WC vs Chile.

DO IT!

No.

Have we forgotten that Petke wouldn't sub ppl on and would thus drive players into the ground? Marsch drove players into the ground, too, and he even had a reserve team and an entire developmental pyramid to lean on.

I'll never forgive Armas for giving into the hubris of the entire org from GM to fanbase for going into the ATL playoffs in a 4-2-3-1 when he should've gone 3-3-3-1. Inexcusable.

Distribution is the one concrete thing Meara has over Robles right?

6'3" or thereabouts vs 5'11"?

based on what Robles said Saturday nite post game in the locker room, there won't be much luck involved, what with the amount of effort and focus given on the pitch.

This club needs a new GM and Technical Director

plus some younger high end players.
