And the attendance of RSL's home opener, who just opened their very own brand new stadium, was 11,806.. what's your point?
that looked just as pathetic if not more pathetic than us..

6. Sorry, Red Bulls and, you too, MetroStars fans. I wish I could turn back the clock to 1996, when I was an employee of the MetroStars, and cap our home opener attendance at something like 30,000. Look at Seattle! I wish I could go back to that glorious inaugural season and convince everyone in our front office that we should not be enticed by big early crowds, but should concentrate on building ticket demand and excitement and that, no, we're not lying, our sellout attendance is 30,000, not 77,000. Even though we had fun watching the Metros play in front of some huge crowds at Giants Stadium in '96 (who can ever forget the three-goal comeback and Giovanni Savarese's bicycle kick against Tampa Bay with 38,000 in the stands?) , we screwed up. Seattle is our proof.
