It's a beautiful thing.

The sports mix on ch 480 is pretty sweet. All games on one channel.

Wow.

That break looked pretty horrific. The faces of the players around Valencia tell you all you need to know without seeing a replay.

I wish Tottenham could play 90 whole minutes. That would be nice.

fracture and dislocation. Valencia looked at his leg and his expression is frightening.

We got a big one today in Arsenal vs. Barcelona.

I'm reading this everywhere:

The marquee Wednesday match is unquestionably at the Emirates where the top team in Spanish - and perhaps global club football - will play England’s number two. On paper it's one of the pairings of the round. Both sides play attacking, possession-oriented football that prizes smarts over physical prowess. Both have influential midfielders and deadly strikers, and both can switch off on defense because of their overwhelming offensive superiority.

But one team is expected to dominate the tie, and it isn’t the Londoners.

Sadly I have to agree, that Barca midfield shreds anything in its path, and even though Wenger had last years match to learn from I don't think it's enough to stop Barcelona.

I think it's even worse that they are so similar in holding possession. Barca is unbelievable when it comes to that. The best defense against barca is absorbing attacks and counter attacking. I don't think the arsenal D is strong enough. Should be a repeat of last year if not worse.

I'm not sure I agree with this strategy. Doesn't seem to be working very well against Barca. I think very high, very hard pressure has been most effective and an attempt to immediately get the ball back or foul. Make Barca play between the defense and the midfield and keep them from playing between the midfield and the attack anywhere near the goal.

Make Barca play transition soccer. They aren't that fast so they can be tracked down if they get behind the defense and they have a long way to go. Otherwise you sit there and let them play faster and faster and faster until you simply can't keep up anymore. You might lose 7-0, but you also might just be able to get and keep possession a bit yourself.

The Barcelona/Arsenal game was amazing. Even though Barcelona dominated possession you could see the potential for Arsenal to get some goals. It's too bad for Barca that Messi seemed off his game a little. I'm thinking that he's a little tired with the Copa del Rey going on and it showed in the second half especially. Even though both of these teams are my favorite to watch in Europe, I was pulling for Barcelona. I'm sure they'll get it back at Camp Nou.

I think Arsenal benefitted from having a more challenging run up to this game. Arsenal has had some emotionally taxing games which gave them more of an edge. Of course, if Messi converts on a couple of those great, great chances the Gunners are toast.

Nice win for Barca-lite yesterday, but I don't think a one goal aggregate lead going into the second leg is enough.

Barcelona will be without Pique, which does help Arsenal's cause... but I doubt think will see another "off" night from Barca in the second leg....

If you're not creepin', you're not trying...
