Today Duncan played like an absolute shit. Worse than Nealis on a bad day. Harper was a clear improvement over him. I get that he didn't play much in Belgium, and I don't know how long it takes him to get into game form, but he does not look like Duncan from last year at all and we need him to contribute now. Play-offs are far from a lock. The way he looked today is not a wash with Edwards, it's downgrade from Nealis.

This is what happens when the Team doesnt do their homework and purchase players, early on the transfer window, to get them reps. Duncan is coming off his own off season so rust is to be expected.

Certainly an ignominious return for the biggest transfer of the summer window.

I like Kyle (tonight not so much)
Needs to get over this game and get his groove back

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Duncan played Worse than Nealis

He was set up for a shot on an early corner & skyed it.
He was responsible for the ORL shot that scored.
He misjudged the header and whiffed on it,
so he was out of position for the ensuing give & go.
He then failed on a sliding block on the goal.
That was the game.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Duncan is like most of our roster, capable of very good days and equally bad days, and we all have very short memories about one or the other depending on our mood.

It seems like without Edwards Struber cannot find a balance where we can defend well and still create chances. It's either one or the other. In the last two games defense held up (aside from Duncan's fuck up), but we really didn't create much. Before that we were able to create, but defense was porous. Ever since Edwards left, Struber has been unable to make an adjustment for right balance.
