USL roster deadline day was yesterday so expecting some news on the USL roster side soon.

Current USL Roster (not including Academy callups):
Rafi Diaz - Rocky season for Rafi who was signed briefly to the first team. Definitely a regression season. But we could do much worse.
Jordan Scarlett - solid in his time he was healthy. Certainly keep him.
Tim Schmoll - sub at best. His height is a strength and has long strides to make up for his mistakes. Not sure a Harvard grad will want to play a third season at USL wages.
Andrew Lombard - injuries have derailed him the past two years. Was excited to see him play the last game of the season, only to suffer another injury. Former USYNT player and academy grad, so rooting for the guy.
Noah Powder - certainly a future talent, but trials overseas didn't seem to help him. Signed during the season and seemed to have lost the left back spot. Still a player you want to keep but needs to find time over Kutler and Kevin O'Toole.
David Najem - solid USL right back. If we are going for developing a younger player, it makes sense to unload Najem.
Ethan Kutler - certainly took over that left wingback role down the stretch after some injuries. Gotta give him another year at that spot. He could be a suitable replacement for Taxi.
David Abidor - sub material at best. Would be surprised if he returns.
Florian Valot - Sophomore slump for sure. Still deserves to be back but may have fallen off the 1st team radar.
Andrew Tinari - his impressive campaign allowed te release of Metzger/Basuljevic
Junior Flemmings - rumbling that he is gone. Lot of people are high on him. He reminds me of Dane Richards circa 2007 so MLS will be tough.
Stefano Bonomo - what an improvement this year! May be first team bench option.
Douglas Martinez - did not impress me other than his first game.

Who do you think gets a first team look?

I'd wager Scarlett and Bonomo. Tinari a possibility, too?

Hearing from sources that Junior Flemmings option has not been picked up by #RBNY / #RBNYII. Talented Jamaican international has other options in MLS & USL.

I'm kind of surprised because I think he can be a decent MLS player.  Then again, if we weren't prepared to elevate him then may as well let him go.

Those would be the first two I'd try to bring back from that group as well.

From what I had heard a few weeks ago already, Diaz was not going to be coming back and this parting of ways is very much mutual.

Makes sense given Lauro is around.

Never thought I would see those words in the same sentence.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

From what I have heard, the club is paying to have the artificial turf pulled up at Montclair and have natural grass installed.

Did anyone else hear this?

There was talk of this prior to this season, but the late winter caused a delay which then never happened.

Would be great to see this.
