Thoughtful and considered leadership does not mean instructing your underlings to get business done for the sake of doing something. Doing something simply for the sake of doing it because it might make some fans happy in the near term, is the very definition of bad management. Might as well sell the team to James Dolan.

And get Isiah Thomas as GM

Why cant anyone ever interview him or ask him any questions and hold him accountable?

Does no one cover MLS?

Quit your job, work on getting press credentials and making a living out of it, and then get on the teams shit list. Lets see how long that lasts

Unfortunately this is not a soccer crazy country where the press can afford to do that kind of questioning. You still have to play nice by MLS

In Topic: Some people remember Petke firing

For whatever reason, this hasn't been reported on, or the Red Bulls did a great job of keeping the lid on the real reasons for Petke's firing.  But I'm convinced it was more than just thinking Petke wasn't a great manager.

In the industry, some of the details of termination never see the light of day. As an example, we still do not know the real cause of the firings of Richie and Des days prior to the start of the season. There has been plenty of theories and rumors but nothing concrete. And if I am not wrong, neither one of them worked for another MLS institution after that.

Would have loved to see Adams score once more against a Mourinho team...

Yes, you did.

Your post (in a sarcastic tone) was that it's irrational to complain about Thelwell in any way. Things are either rational or not. There is no in between with that word.

Since Thelwell is now Hamlett's boss, the buck stops with him. Is he to blame for everything prior to him coming here? No. Is he to blame for everything going forward? Yes, since he's now the guy in charge for that aspect of the club.

The roster isn't adequate heading into the season. What is Thelwell doing about that? Has he given Hamlett the green light to sign more players?

It doesn't take six months for a supposed good soccer executive to realize that the team isn't up to snuff. This excuse of giving him until the summer to make additions -- and criticizing anyone calling for them now -- is laughable.

Dude, have you heard of a 30-60-90 day plan? It is a document new employee at an organization write to list goals and action plans to achieve them. From an entry level associate to a CEO. And it is called that because that is the minimum amount of time it takes to start contributing to an organization. And it is important to take the time specially when you are in charge of a large organization
