If they didn't come out for a household name like Juninho, I'm not sure Luquinhas will move the needle.

It's the sort of thing that always sounds like it'll work on paper, but never seems to materialize in practice. Couldn't tell you why. General disinterest in MLS and loyalty towards the leagues they already follow perhaps?

That was kind of my point. They havent come for Luq, why would they come for another Brazilian player?

I'm guessing Luquinhas isn't a household name in Brazilian communities...

But this other guy is? I understand why they dont go to RBA for Luq. I just doubt the player named above will be the one that starts drawing Brazilian fans.

fair point.

Red Bull really should be signing a legit well known brazilian player, but that's another topic all together.

They don't even know when it's game day. I go to a Brazilian bar before almost every game and when people see me in my RB jersey someone invariably asks if there's a game that day.

They should start by handing out schedule posters to all the Brazilian, Portuguese and Spanish bars and restaurants in the Ironbound.

RBA opener was sold out for Santos ft. Neymar.
Marquez could not attract Mexicans.

only closest thing that would is if they're attacking players that are not projects but semi-established or close to the finished product. maybe it's that quite a lot of the RBNY community wants to see that type of player rather than the 'guy who is developing' and might be good.

it's a shame that Luquinhas is that sort of finished product that is mos def contributing and it isn't having an effect on ppl coming to games or not. maybe there are ppl watching from home, though.

It's also a momentum thing. People that have been given reasons to stay away wont be easily won over / won back off a few promising months. And then they go to an empty RBA and see Klimala flail in a draw oy. Doesn't exactly scream the "big club experience" that can enchant new fans. If the 2018 team wins CCL & MLS Cup, then signs a Luqi or a Pato, maybe there's an already-wiggling needle that's more easily moved. Aura matters.

Has RBFO ever worked with SGs on grassroots outreach? A campaign to #rebuildfortmetro is definitely needed.

i mean how many games has Luqui even started at home yet?  As mentioned by others this will take time but if the team starts scoring goals at home again and we have a decent record more fans will come.  Attacking wise last 2 years were really really ugly
