Don't know if this was posted yet, thought I share it with you guys in case you didn't get the e-mail from the FO.

With the recent events in Paris, we all knew this was coming... So, with that in mind:

Fans attending Sunday’s sold-out Eastern Conference Championship are asked to arrive early with increased security measures in place in and around Red Bull Arena.

All gates will open two hours prior to kickoff. Fans will have a longer than usual wait to get into Red Bull Arena with the added security measures in place.

Please note a new bag policy is also in effect starting Sunday at Red Bull Arena. In addition, all fans will be subject to search including wanding, pat downs and bag check including all small purses.

PERMITTED ITEMS

  • Clear bags that are 12” x 6” x 12” or less in size (1 per person)
  • Small purses/handbags that are 4.5” x 6.5” or less in size (1 per person)

NOT PERMITTED

  • Any type of non-clear bag larger than 4.5” x 6.5” in size including:
  • Purses/Handbags
  • Camera Cases
  • Fanny Packs
  • Binocular Cases
  • Diaper Bags
  • Computer Bags
  • Backpacks
  • Briefcases
  • Coolers of any kind, thermoses or ice chests
  • Seat cushions of any size except those for medical needs
  • Baby strollers

Red Bull Arena asks our guests to assist in creating a safe environment for everyone.

  • Be respectful and courteous to others
  • Consume alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner
  • Refrain from using foul/abusive language

“If you See Something, Say Something”

Please report any suspicious activity OR improper conduct to nearest Red Bull Arena staff member, or by texting (424) 789-8722 and type RBA followed by the message.

Seems pretty similar to the rules when going to an NFL game.

I'm glad they are being pro-active with safety and security.

yea, it's pretty standard.  But RBA has been lax compared to other places.

How has RBA been lax?  My bag has been searched & I have been patted down or wanded at every game.

The only difference from some other arena/stadiums is metal detectors.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I'm glad we have this enhanced security with all those Columbus fans coming to town to thug it up with their stamp collections and magic card tricks.

Can't speak for your experience, but those pat downs and bag searches are about as competent as the concession service.

They need to have the detectors that MetLife does.

RBA staff is super-friendly, but right now it is a soft target if somebody wanted to do something stupid. Those pat-downs are nothing....it's easy to smuggle anything, unfortunately.

That's great and everything but the guy at Stade de France was prevented of going in the stadium by security and detonated his vest outside when they wouldn't let him in. If he was inside it would have been a huge disaster with the people in proximity and the resulting stampede.

Assuming security is tighter everyone should make more of en effort to be there earlier than normal.  We don't want a half empty arena when we score the first goal 8 seconds in!!

Is anyone actually concerned about their safety? I know a handful of people that plan to skip the MLS Cup Final (should we make it) for that very reason, and as much as I disagree with that mindset to the core, I can understand why they might be afraid.

The only concern I have is how to sneak liquor in.
