From a CCL perspective, we should probably want SKC to repeat this year.  That'll open up another CCL spot allocated through the 2 year table.  If not them, Portland or Chicago are the only teams that have a chance of catching us in that table.

Frankly, since I am merely a fan and a not a fancy American soccer writer, I'm going to congratulate Wright-Phillips on a well hit goal. If I was an American soccer writer, I'd claim that the recently retired Henry was wearing an invisibility cloak and carried the ball into the net for the obviously unskilled Wright-Phillips.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

We've got to make up 9 points on NYC first.

To take that second spot yeah.  But I think the odds of either us, someone who finishes at the top of the CCL table, or SKC winning MLS cup are pretty good, which would open a 3rd spot.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Think the two best teams left play eachother tonight in that Portland LAFC game.   Can never count out Vermes though.  Great tournament coach and just one of the reasons that I'd like him to coach the national team.

Would love ORL-CHI in one semifinal, and SKC-LAFC in the other. imo, winner of SKC-LAFC wins the whole thing.

It's really sad to think that one of Orlando, Philly, Chicago, and Louisville City is going to be in the final.  We really shit the bed.

Philly is through to the semis.

Chicago up 1-0 in the 1st half.

SKC is up at Houston 1-0 in the 1st half.

LAFC-POR up next, and they had just played in a league match the weekend prior. Crazy.

Chicago were up 2-0, then scored 2 goals in stoppage.

Houston came back and scored 3 unanswered.

LAFC-POR is about to start.

Semis: PU, Chi, Houston, & newbies LAFC on 8/7-8.
We host LAFC on 8/5. Who will they send/sit?

Man I love Vermes.

My only hope with this tournament at this point is that Philly loses.  Houston is a good team.  That Quioto dude is a great player.

LAFC were the only ones that had a good crowd, rest were horrible. All the home teams won as well.

Really, really hope Philly doesn't win this thing.

Would also be a kick in the stones seeing LAFC win it in their first year of existence.
