The Boob had plenty to work with. He just decided to build the team around the less-than-adequate Junior at center mid (does one of the two deep mids in a 4-2-2-2 count as a center mid?), Jozy at striker and Gooch as center back. He decided to leave out several very good players and did not build systems around the good ones that he did call.

I agree.

Talent is vital but, it is not the only key to success. The manager makes a difference (see France's loon of a coach and Dunga's attempt to take the samba out of Brazil in SA 2010).

BB and Marsch admitted to spending 3 years trying to find the right partner for Bradley, Jr. in the middle and Jozy up top. That alone speaks to a lack of vision, creativity, and objectivity that should not occur with the leadership of our Men's National Team. Not to mention the benching of Landon Donovan.

Wasn't sure where to put this, but I thought I'd share: Bruce Arena tells ESPN: "I think expectations from the [U.S. Soccer] administration to the fan base is very unreasonable at times ..."

You mean the expectation that, if something's not working, the coach should try something else?

The important thing now is for Bruce to hang onto the G coaching gig until Bradley finds gainful employment.

Bob Bradley to interview to be Egypt manager

BB is reminding me a little of Avram Grant. A journeyman sort of manager who lives and breathes soccer. :pint:
