Brian Lewis reporting that one of our youth coaches was killed in NYC overnight: http://www.nypost.co...zrpHSF5f11kfkOP

Youth soccer coach Mike Jones was killed in a brutal stabbing in the West Village early this morning that left his severed ear lying in a pool of blood on a 14th Street sidewalk.

The 25-year-old – who coached youth soccer in Westchester and worked with the Red Bulls Youth Training Programs – was found near 25 West 14th between Fifth and Sixth Aves. around 4:26 a.m. with six knife wounds to the head, neck and chest he’d suffered 10 minutes earlier, acording to police.

Unfortunate that the next home game is two weeks away, but we should be thinking about a memorial.

He is not the Red Bull defender by the same name.

Seems like something is not right about this. It seems that Jones knew who the killer was since they were talking before an alteration happened.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Further local press... includes a photo. He definitely looks familiar, maybe he played in the tournament at the Harrison courts?

"Obviously, I want to make a living (in soccer), to say the least," he said. "There's so much you can accomplish in the soccer world, and right now I'm focused on having a good season with the Red Bulls. Ultimately, our goal is to win the MLS Cup, and I see no reason why we can't." - #4 Tyler Adams

Gutless, cowardly, horrible. Can't think of a punishment or payback that is painful enough for this guy should he be found. Gotta be more to this story than dude just randomly pulled a shank. Damn.
