The national team quote is interesting because Henry is in the running to be next coach so he should be open to mls player if the guy is killing it

Why 2021 when entire 2022 ? Especially young playerAs always, fbref has a stat or two that tells you your eye test watching a guy for ~4,000 min is wrong lol.
I'm thinking back mostly to the 2021 season where Tolkin split time with Gutman. Gutman was constantly bombing up the sideline, getting to the endline, and putting balls into the box. You don't see much of that traditional wide play from Tolkin, which maybe skews my perception of his attacking involvement a bit.

Struber "loves" that he's rich in choices in the central midfield, and praises Peter Stroud, especially his "vertical thinking." Notes that the competition for first-team minutes is high, and that makes things better.
Struber says the "expectation is high" for results this year. Wants to show the home fans better performances, says team wasn't always "sexy in this direction" in 2022
Struber notes that the team needs to improve in many areas: defense, midfielders, forward scoring. Adds: realization of better chances, setting up in the opponents' box, overloads, crosses

Talking about the #RBNY squad, Gerhard Struber says “we have to improve many things” but says happy with level of competition in many positions.” “We know our gaps, but we also know our strengths.
Gerhard Struber says he is pleased with what he sees from backline players early in preseason; says key on other end of field to improving #RBNY scoring issues from last year are better setups for wide overloads and crosses.

Edwards was one of the few guys I've watched that had a real aura of leadership on the field no matter where he played. Great teammate and never lost focus for one second of the ninety minutes.
MF maybe you have the stats to sanity check me here, but it sure seemed like we gave up a whole lot more second half goals after Edwards left.
lost focus after 90 like in the USOC game getting red carded in last minute or was that after the whistle.
Tom had grit and was good/really good for us but not the amazing narrative so many recall.

What a dickwad.
good article
this stands out.
t wouldn't be surprising if there were prior issues brewing between him and Berhalter because it seems so bizarre that he wouldn't give such a close friend the benefit of the doubt when it came to professional decision-making, even if that meant less playing time for his son. So, to react by sending disparaging text messages to U.S. Soccer executives about Berhalter during the World Cup is puzzling behavior.
Also Reyna was at 94 World Cup but did not play a minute so if anyone should understand not playing it should be him

good comment on Cabral LAG to cRapids gives idea of how much to trade underperforming DP for
2023 600K GAM
2024 400K GAM
I find it funny Doyle places Peter Stroud (but have high hopes for) above Yearwood a proven MLS commodity. Any word on Peter Stroud signing?
- But what I don’t think anyone should expect is for big-money signings to be made, because this club doesn't play at that table anymore.
There are plenty of tables outside of the big money table for us to play at to bring in helpful additions.

hell, I would sign Giroud to a big 1 or 2 year deal even though he's 36.

Sounds like him and struber would be oil and waterUnfortunately NYRB would never sign a player of his caliber. College players and 14 year old academy kids only.
