So this game happened today. When I checked Ticketmaster, there were more empty seats than an RBA midweek game. I guess people won't pay $60 to watch an international friendly?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Peru v Iceland was midweek and PACKED.   That was just a friendly, but was a final warmup for the WC, so maybe that helped.

Peru vs Iceland was also the de facto "send off" game for Peru, who was making it to their 1st world cup in like 40 years.

Sure, but how often does the huge Peru community here get to see them play live?

Apparently, once was enough!

The debacle was the shit performance the US National Team performed yesterday.

The debacle was ... the US National Team

TAFs point was that 47K were MEX fans.
I would guesstimate 40K.

This, plus it was a little expensive, and Peruvians seem to wait until the last minute to buy tickets. That may have hurt because their star Guerrero backed out about a week before the game. I heard multiple rumors that the team was going to be all scrubs, it wasnt, but that still may have hurt sales. The crowd that was there was quite enthusiastic though.

Jake, I really, truthfully don't think there were 7+k US fans. I was a tad bit shocked on how little of them showed. The supporters section, of course was the biggest pack of US fans... But it was a fun game.

I was also happy that I, personally didn't see any incidents on either side or anything like that...

Good. I was flipping back & forth with the Mets,
but did not hear the Puto chant while watching.

I dont blame USA fans for not showing up. The way the USSF is run makes RB look like a pleasure cruise. They put up with that snake oil salesman Klinsmann for way too long. Guy was an absolute fucking joke. Set the program back years. Maybe a whole decade.

New President now blah blah blah but it isnt any better than before. We needed real change in the USSF and we got more bullshit.

Sorry. Tangent. Fuck the USSF.
