Our defense was a function of the high press. Teams couldn't play through it. This year we've relied on the press considerably less, and it shows.

Bad coaching makes good players look average.

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. Is it more ineffective than bad?
Obviously, fans question many of his moves.
But, are there good plans that dont work?
Perhaps because he cant motivate the team?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

All points very possible. Whatever hes doing isnt working.

Passing out of the back, 2-forward systems, short corners are some of the good ideas in recent games that looked good for 15-30-45 minute stretches. Did not result in positive overall outcomes.

well, Cruz Azul fired their coach who got them to Liga MX final from last yr. they an argy DMid in the offseason, never got an adequate replacement. sometimes it really is about letting a player go and it affects the team the next season.

was a terrible game on saturday, but i thought a slight improvement was made within 101.

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

We can discuss and debate individual decisions and tactics and players leaving and whatever, and he's done some good things, but when this many players have gone backwards, and we badly lose an important late-season home game with a full squad to a shitty team missing its top players, after looking so bad so often in so many games, ITS NOT GOOD ENOUGH AND ITS ON THE COACH.

Guess no All-Access video for this match 😂, theyve been getting shorter and shorter this season.

Guess they dont want us to see coach addressing an empty locker room.

Someone has gotten wise to the fact that those videos do not help to paint an optimistic picture.

And thats putting it nicely.

Amazing what a new, good coach can do
