I don't think age is a requirement for a good captain. It just needs to be someone the team respects and admires. Of the 10 field players my guess is it should be Kemar.

agree.  He talks like one as he said at the All Star game he appreciates that environment because the guys are competative and bring it even if it is a 1 off team.

Maybe Kemar should start yelling at NYRB players like he did to Villalba

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

"Why are the OGs yelling at me..." I think that may be the 1st barrier, since there aren't many OGs on the team, since the roster is constructed to have so few of them. And then coupled with the team having a HC who is on his 1st or 2nd ever HC gig. Just a domino effect, imo.

Theres a FANTASTIC interview with Steve Cangialosi on the Seeing Red podcast this week. Amongst other things he talks about whats gone wrong and how Armas could possibly salvage some things and right the ship.

I highly recommend it.

Havent made it to the interview yet, 10 minutes in and we are re-litigating the offseason Kaku drama for the current toxicity of the locker room.

Could one win in the last five secure the seventh playoff spot?

If that happened, in order for Montreal to pass RB in the standings, they would need to win two of these and get draws or better in the other two, since their goal differential sucks:
- Home against Cincy, Atlanta, RB
- Away at LA

And Orlando would have to win at least three of their last four and get a result in the fourth game.

seems like we're in, just a question of which away destination for the playoff match. i have no hope in the team salvaging 4th and getting a home playoff match.

8 or 9 points (2 home wins), 4th place, beat NYCFC in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

which away destination for the playoff match.

Season ends 10/6. First playoff match 10/19-20.
So, go to Montreal for finale? Or go to KO match?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I think teams below have very hard chance to pass rbny. Would be monumental collapse to manage to completely miss playoffs.

Thinking of going to Montreal since midweek away playoff games will be hard to manage but worried that Ill just make that expense to see aforementioned monumental collapse.

Montreal has a real tough schedule, especially with 2 legs of the Canadian Cup mixed in. But, they do play us in MTL the last game of the season. So as long as they stay within 3 pts they have a chance.

MTL in '16 was fun outside of the game. the game itself is something i won't forget, it was that demoralizing. acquiring Collin by May, getting Royer into the XI and BWP scoring more than a goal a game. all to ass out to MTL.

NE TFC and DC are the teams near us in pts. the team that ends up 4th could very well be the team that screws up the least within matches. NE was hot, they've cooled off. TFC has been inconsistent all yr. And DC has all that potential turmoil that players might mail in the rest of the season.

Hit rock bottom on the road trip. Finish strong against division foes. One and done in the playoffs.

1st Round Playoffs - L

oh, so kinda like '16, then? would mean impact player inserted after July (Royer) and a guy who scored more than a goal a game in the final third of the season (BWP).

completely doable!
