CBA negotiations are going to be big this year - last time they went to bat for free agency, this time it will be about the cap. No one is going to sign a new deal until the new cap (and corresponding restrictions) is settled.

From what I heard about 2 weeks ago, the sides are REALLY far off.

GAM/TAM
DP limits
Salary Cap
Senior/Reserve/Supplemental Roster Status
Re-Entry Draft
Charter Flights
Cost of Living adjustments
Younger Free Agents

The LA Times article stated a fund is set up to care for players should they strike.

With all the items out there, I'd be surprised if they resolve everything by February/March. Add in the complexities of players out of contract negotiating deals, drafted players, USL having a CBA of their own. Lots of uncertainties to kick off a season in a few months.
