Pretty happy I was wrong. Grelladinho joins Drogba and Giovinco as one of three candidates for Newcomer of the Year. Remarkable, career year for him.

they should give it to the only guy still alive in the playoffs :P


Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

he loves to take on defenders 1v1 (and sometimes even 1v2). i wish more american players had the skill to do this

Favorite part of his game. I think a lot American players have the skill, but they're too worried about making a mistake.

Grella is actually pretty successful at it though.  He also recognizes when he is drawing 2 defenders in, does so, and knows when to dish it out to the open teammate.  That occupying of defenders is sometimes as productive as beating them yourself.
